In 1981 the SSV Dillenburg rose after a disappointing season from the highest Hessian league in the state league . After participating in the DFB-Pokal again in the 1981/82 season (2: 7 in the first round against Borussia Mönchengladbach ), the SSV missed the possible return to the league in 1990 and 1991. In 1993, the club withdrew its first team from the game operation due to financial problems, so that the former second team took up the new first team in the district league, from which they, however, relegated to the A-League .

New beginnings and ascents

After the new start in the A-League, the leap back to the district league was successful in 1996, and in 2001 one step higher. For a long time the SSV Dillenburg belonged to the group league Gießen / Marburg, currently (July 2014) they play again in the district league A Dillenburg.
