Jürgen Strack (born March 22, 1954 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Strack played from 1977 for VfR Bürstadt in the 2nd Bundesliga . At the end of the 1977/78 season , the Bürstädter rose as eighteenth in the table in the Oberliga Hessen. In this, the VfR managed the direct return to the 2nd Bundesliga in the following season. In the summer of 1979 Strack moved to TSV 1860 Munich , for which he completed 56 games in the Bundesliga from the 1979/80 season . In Strack's second season in 1860, he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. Strack played another year with the Lions, before moving on to 1. FC Saarbrücken moved to the Oberliga Southwest, with whom he at the end of the 1982/83 season the rise celebrated in the 2. Bundesliga. After this success, Strack returned to VfR Bürstadt in 1983. Strack was also able to move up to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 1983/84 season with the Hessians. In the promotion round , the VfR prevailed against Strack's former club 1860 Munich. Strack played 37 games in the second division for VfR Bürstadt in the 1984/85 season , but could not prevent relegation to the top division.
In the 1989/90 season, Strack was the coach of the upper division SSV Reutlingen 05 . Strack led the SSV to the runner-up in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg, which entitled the club to participate in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga. In this, the Reutlingen team failed just behind FSV Mainz 05 and 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 . In addition, they won the WFV Cup with a 3-0 victory in the final against FC Wangen 05 and thus qualified for the DFB Cup . At the end of the season, Strack left the SSV after terminating his contract in March 1990.
