career

When the center forward and goalscorer Hans-Otto Jordan just managed to stay up in the 1975/76 season with the newcomer to the amateur league Hesse , SpVgg Neu-Isenburg , he drew the attention of those responsible for the runner-up VfR Bürstadt and the DFB with his skills . On April 7, 1976, the amateur footballer from Hesse was used in Bremerhaven in the international match of the German amateur national team against Denmark. For the next round in 1976/77 he scored a goal for the black and whites from the small town in Ried in southern Hesse, VfR Bürstadt. With 28 goals, Jordan was the top scorer, Bürstadt won the championship and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga group south under coach Wolfgang Solz . His goals also meant that he came on October 27, 1976 in Augsburg, for the second use in the amateur national team. The then responsible DFB coach Jupp Derwall played the 2-0 international match against Yugoslavia with the attacking formation Jordan, Norbert Eder , Ewald Hammes , Hansi Müller and Hans-Peter Briegel .

Jordan won the opening game in the 2nd Bundesliga with Bürstadt on August 6, 1977 with a 1-0 away win at Freiburg FC in the Möslestadion there . He scored his first goal in the 2nd Bundesliga in a 3-0 home win on August 13, 1977 against the Würzburger Kickers . In the 6-2 success in the second leg on January 15, 1978 against the later relegated from Würzburg, the Bürstadt striker scored four goals. Jordan played 31 league games and scored 18 goals alongside teammates Udo Böhs (goalkeeper), Jürgen Strack and Horst Schauß . Bürstadt rose as 18th in the final table together with FK Pirmasens , Würzburger Kickers and FC Bayern Hof in the amateur camp. Immediately under coach Fritz Fuchs in 1978/79 he won the championship in Hesse and thus immediately returned to the 2nd division. In the second half of the championship round, in April and May 1979, he was used under DFB coach Erich Ribbeck in two other international matches in the amateur national team.

For the 1979/80 round he signed a contract with 1. FC Nürnberg. On the first day of the round he was substituted on July 28, 1979 in the 1: 4 away defeat against 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 58th minute and scored the honorary goal of the "club" in the 84th minute . On the second matchday, August 5th, he and Klaus Täuber formed the attacking front of 1. FC Nürnberg, who lost the home game against Freiburg FC with 1-0. With his third appearance on August 18th at the home game against his former club VfR Bürstadt, Jordan's time in Franconia was already over. The center forward rejoined Bürstadt and made his debut on November 25, 1979 in a 3-1 home win against Röchling Völklingen with two goals in the black and white club from the lawn sport club. Under coach Lothar Kleim, VfR finished 14th and Jordan scored six goals in twelve appearances. The 1980/81 season was the last round of the two-pronged 2. Bundesliga and with that, Bürstadt entered the amateur camp again in the summer of 1981, despite being 13th in the south. Jordan had scored three goals in 25 games alongside fellow players Jürgen Stars (goalkeeper), Otto Frey , Horst Schauß, Georg Müllner , Guido Stetter and Eugen Hupp . Jordan played his last game in the 2nd Bundesliga on May 16, 1981 in a 3-1 home defeat against SpVgg Bayreuth .
