Consolation goal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The consolation goal (synonym: consolation goal ) is at Torspielarten the only scoring during a game hits a losing team . Usually it is the last hit of a game in which the winning team achieves a runaway victory with a high number of their own hits, but the losing team is respected for their one hit for not giving up despite the unreachable deficit. The consolation hit is to be distinguished from the follow-up hit, through which the team behind after hits shortens the deficit to one hit.

Example: The Brazilian team's 7-1 goal against Germany in the 2014 World Cup semi-finals .
