The Football League Hesse 1987/88 was the tenth season of the highest amateur class of the Hessian Football Association . Viktoria Aschaffenburg became champion and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga .

    Promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga

    Viktoria Aschaffenburg took second place in the group south in the subsequent round of promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga.

    German amateur championship

    As Hessian representative, KSV Hessen Kassel took part in the German amateur championship in 1988 and eliminated black and white Essen in the quarter-finals . In the semifinals, Kassel was eliminated against Eintracht Trier .

    Relegation to the regional league

    The CSC 03 Kassel, TuSpo Ziegenhain and the SC Viktoria Griesheim descended directly. After a 4-0 defeat in the play-off due to a tie against VfL Marburg, SpVgg Dietesheim was relegated.
