The SpVgg Dietesheim (officially: Sportvereinigung Dietesheim EV ) is a sports club from Mühlheim am Main in the Offenbach district . The first soccer team played in the 1980s for seven years in the then third-class Oberliga Hessen .

history

The club was founded in 1945 as the collective successor club of all Dietesheim gymnastics and sports clubs. Thirty years after the club was founded, the footballers rose to the Landesliga Hessen-Süd , but had to relegate again in 1978. After the immediate resurgence, the team secured the championship and the associated promotion to the Oberliga Hessen in 1981 with a 2-1 win in the playoff against VfB 06 Großauheim . In the league, the team established itself quickly and only had to tremble for a long time to stay in the 1984/85 season . A year later , the Dietesheimers reached their sporting zenith in fourth place.

The team quickly fell back into midfield and had to relegate back to the national league in 1988 after a 4-0 defeat in the play-off against VfL Marburg . In 1994 the sports association was also relegated from the regional league. After a short state league guest game in the 1996/97 season, the Dietesheimers missed the return to the state league in 2003 when they failed in the relegation at TSF Usingen / Bad Homburg . In 2010, the Dietesheimer returned for a year in the second highest Hessian league now called the Association . Since the immediate relegation, the team has played in the group league Frankfurt-Ost .
