Uli Winters

Ulrich Richard Winters (* 1965 in Düren ) is a writer , media and machine artist.

Uli Winters lives and works in Cologne . In 1999 he completed his art studies at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts with honors. His mechanical and electronic works of art (“Shamanomatics”) have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Norway, Ireland and the USA. For the projects “Byte” (1998) and “Hamster” (1999) he received awards from the “ Ars Electronica ” festival in Linz (Austria). His computer-controlled automatic puppet theaters ("Dramolet showcases") have been shown at several international puppet theater and media art festivals. From 1998 to 2000 he was a scholarship holder of the Günter Peill Foundation in Düren. From 2000 to 2004 he was creative director and managing director of “Raumschiff-Interactive GmbH” for interactive advertising in Hamburg. Since 2005 he has appeared regularly with the writer Michael Lentz , whose readings he a. a. supported with remote-controlled modeling clay and other technical performance elements. Uli Winters writes carnival songs, a. a. for Bernd Stelter and the Bläck Fööss . From 2005 he was a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Leipzig . In 2006/2007 Uli Winters was visiting professor for new media at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig for two semesters . In July 2006 he received a scholarship from the Dr. Robert and Lina Thyll-Dürr (Switzerland). In 2008 Uli Winters was visiting professor at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts. Since 2008 Uli Winters can be heard on WDR2 radio as a comedian in various roles, including a. "Tim Meal", "Angie and Peer", "Copacabana". He also wrote “Taxi Knosowski” on WDR4 . He was on stage in the two WDR2 “Lachen-Live” programs “The Last Duel” and “The Whole Truth”. He is currently on tour of NRW with the WDR2 live show "Copacabana Live".
