E & a film GmbH is an Austrian film production company . The company is based in Vienna.
The field of activity includes productions of cinema and television films, documentaries and series formats. The production company can also refer to event recordings and live broadcasts for various formats, as well as commissioned productions.
history
Markus Pauser and Erich Schindlecker already knew each other from professional activities for different production companies and projects. The positive collaboration resulted in the joint establishment of the film production company e & a film in 2008.
The political satire show “ Dorfers Donnerstalk ” had already been developed with the Austrian cabaret artist Alfred Dorfer and produced for Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) . In the production period from 2004 to 2012, this was an essential part of the “ Thursday Night ” broadcast on ORF 1 and was awarded the “ Golden Romy ” for the best program idea for its innovative implementation . During the time when the company was founded, other format ideas were pursued and developed.
With the comedy TV series “ Die Lottosieger ” (3 seasons of 10 episodes each), the most successful 25-minute format of the last 20 years (as of 2015) was realized on ORF. In addition to the in-house developed concepts, commissioned productions are also produced. For the “ Tatort ” crime series ( ARD , ORF , SRF ) with the Austrian “investigator team” Harald Krassnitzer (as Moritz Eisner ) and Adele Neuhauser (as Bibi Fellner), three film adaptations have been made since 2012, the direction being carried out Harald Sicherheitsitz (episode title: 'Between the Fronts'), Robert Dornhelm (episode title: 'Greed') and Michi Riebl (episode title: ' Shooting Star ').
In 2013, e & a film produced the feature film “ Die Mamba ”, with Michael Niavarani and Christoph Maria Herbst in the leading roles. Ali Samadi Ahadi was the director of this comedy . The film was awarded the "Golden Ticket".
