The Cappuccinos are a German - Dutch hit band .

Band history

The band emerged in 2007 from a hands-on campaign initiated by pop singer Kristina Bach and the magazine SUPERillu . In the end, the two Dutch brothers René and Michèl Ursinus as well as Peter Brückner from Suhl and Robert Kaufmann from Bautzen were selected from the shortlist of 23 candidates . The debut album named after the band was released in April 2009 and was largely written and produced by Kristina Bach. This allowed the cappuccinos to quickly make a name for themselves in the hit scene and get appearances on television. In the same year they were awarded the Herbert Roth Prize for Young Groups.

In spring 2010, the second album Ungeküsst was released , which made it to number 47 in the German album charts . In July 2011, Party on the Moon, the third album was released, which made it to number 33 in the German charts.

All members of the group can sing and play instruments. René and Michél Ursinus received guitar and keyboard lessons from their father, a professional musician, and were active in a cover band in their home country for 10 years. Peter Brückner started taking classical singing lessons at the age of six, was active in various choirs and was a singer and guitarist in various bands. Robert Kaufmann started playing the drums as a child and later gave himself lessons.

In mid-September 2014 it was announced that drummer Robert Kaufmann is leaving the band.

On January 13, 2019, Die Cappuccinos set the world record for the most autographs given by a band in 3 minutes.
