facts and figures

It offers space for 1,566 spectators on the stalls and two tiers and cost around 25 million euros. The conference and congress hotel Ramada Hotel Micador with 254 rooms and a wellness area is connected to the theater .

The theater had its own station called “Rhein-Main-Theater” on the Ländchesbahn to the north (railway line Niedernhausen im Taunus - Wiesbaden Hbf ), which was used at the performance times. This was the world's first stop that was built exclusively for a theater. The construction costs amounted to 1 million euros. Theater trains also ran from Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof . The 200 meter long platform was used from 1996 to 1998; since regular musicals were stopped, all trains have passed through here without stopping. The steel grid construction of the one-sided platform has meanwhile been removed and dismantled.

history

The German version of the musical Sunset Boulevard was premiered here on December 7, 1995 with Uwe Kröger and Helen Schneider in the leading roles. Andrew Lloyd Webber was also present at the premiere. After the theater's occupancy rate, according to the organizers, fell from more than 80 percent initially with eight performances a week to just 30 percent, the play finally no longer paid off. Even Peter Weck as a director and actor Yngve Gasoy-Romdal and Daniela Ziegler , the musical could not save more. Game operations on Sunset Boulevard were finally completely stopped in August 1998; the last performance took place on May 5, 1998, after less than three years. Up to the end, a total of 992 performances had been given in Niedernhausen.

The operator then tried to find a new long-term tenant, but it did not succeed. After several changes of ownership, changing and internationally renowned events are now taking place in the theater. In February 2006 Atze Schröder presented his program Deutschland ein Märchenland in front of almost 1,000 visitors. In March 2006, the tour production of the musical Aida took place over a period of five weeks. On March 16, 2012 the music show The Dome took place in the Rhein-Main-Theater. The Sister Act followed in March 2017 with a duration of almost four weeks.

Before the theater and the hotel were built, the site at the Niedernhausen motorway junction to the BAB 3 had to be used for years. One of the plans was to build an adventure pool (“ Taunamare ”) here. Construction finally began at the end of the 1980s, but the client had to file for bankruptcy, as the ruins of the building, which had been in existence for several years, testified to.

After there was no independent internet presence for years, it was forwarded to the operator of the theater (Depro Concert GmbH) and another homepage is in use.
