Yngve Gasoy-Romdal

Yngve Gasoy-Romdal (born April 24, 1968 in Tønsberg , Norway ; actually Yngve Gåsøy) is a Norwegian actor and singer .

Life

Yngve Gasoy-Romdal was born as the eldest son of the painter Paul Gåsøy and his wife Olaug Gåsøy. He grew up with two siblings in Molde and Vikebukt - a small village on the west coast of Norway. He and his first wife Sharon Dyall have a daughter: Disa Olina, born in 1993. Today, Yngve Gasoy-Romdal lives in Berlin with his wife, musical artist and colleague Leah Delos Santos, and their daughter Lilya Aurora, who was born in 2016.

Yngve Gasoy-Romdal has been performing as a singer and actor in Europe and Asia for many years. His musical career began at the age of seven: Gasoy-Romdal first played the violin and viola, then various wind instruments and the church organ, before he started singing as a soprano in the cathedral choir in Molde at the age of twelve. At the age of 18 he began to study at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo . A short time later he was on stage at Det Norske Teatret in Oslo for the musical Alice Lengter Tilbake . The title roles in Ben Hur and Aladdin followed .

The artist made his breakthrough in Germany as Joe Gillis in the German production of Sunset Boulevard . Other leading roles followed, for example in Mozart! ( Vienna and Hamburg ), Jekyll & Hyde ( Cologne , Magdeburg ), Jesus Christ Superstar ( Bad Hersfeld , Vienna), Beauty and the Beast ( Oberhausen ; Berlin ; Magdeburg Cathedral Festival) and Into The Woods ( Bozen , Italy). In Tecklenburg he played in Evita , 3 Musketeers and Marie Antoinette . This was followed by Cats (Tecklenburg and Thun , Switzerland), Der Graf von Monte Christo ( Röttingen ) and Chess ( Tromsø , Norway). Gasoy-Romdal also played the leading roles in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies (German premiere in Hamburg), Kiss me Kate ( Kristiansund , Norway), Jane Eyre ( Gmunden , Austria) and Bernsteins Mass ( Mozarteum Salzburg ). His latest project is Doctor Schiwago (Gmunden, Austria).

Yngve Gasoy-Romdal has appeared as a soloist in concerts around the world, including four times in the Royal Albert Hall in London, in Manila , in Moscow , at the “Robert Stolz Gala” 2001 in Graz and at numerous concerts in Germany and Norway and Austria. Among other things, he took part in the 2012 Tour Best of Musicals Gala by Stage Entertainment , which led to the largest arenas in Germany. In the summer of 2013 he appeared as a soloist in the series “Wien Musicals in Concert” in Tokyo and Osaka . At the beginning of 2014 several concerts followed in Southeast Asia and Austria.

On television he played a guest role in Kommissar Rex for Sat.1 and ORF 1 . For ARD and ORF Yngve Gasoy-Romdal next turned Maximilian Schell and Barbara Sukowa the trilogy Love, lies, suffering sheep t . In the second season of Sabine! (ZDF) he took on a guest role in 2004. In Scandinavia he worked for almost two years in the TV series Rederiet as well as with BBC London in Atlantis and My Life in Film .

Gasoy-Romdal has been a guest on various talk shows and television shows in Germany, Austria, Japan, the Philippines, Norway and Sweden.
