Dagmar Frederic
Dagmar Frederic (born Dagmar Elke Schulz ; born April 15, 1945 in Eberswalde ) is a German singer, dancer and presenter.
Life

Dagmar Elke Schulz was born shortly before the end of World War II as the daughter of the zoo director in Eberswalde. At the age of 16 she made her first appearance on the stage of the Eberswalder entertainment orchestra. She completed an apprenticeship as a pharmacy assistant and later studied at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin . The showmaster and talent seeker Heinz Quermann discovered her in 1966 during a casting for the television series Herzklopfen gratis . Schulz took singing lessons in Berlin with Ms. Rosenberg, Ms. Grünert and Peter Wieland and received his first engagements with the Eberswalder dance orchestra Max Reichelt .
The Berlin Friedrichstadtpalast engaged her in 1967 for performances with musical melodies, including from My Fair Lady . From 1969 to 1975 she performed in a duet with Siegfried Uhlenbrock . Her song Du hast laughed became popular , especially when the figure skater Gaby Seyfert completed her freestyle with this song in the USA in 1969 and won the world championship title. In 1971 Dagmar Frederic played the leading role in the musical Andrea in Halle (Saale) .
In East German television , she hosted from 1973 different entertainment programs, including the Christmas show Serenade by candlelight , cinema music with Dagmar Frederic and music that brings you joy . She presented the entertainment revue Ein Kessel Buntes and the award ceremony for TV favorites . During the GDR era it was occasionally occupied "at the personal request of Erich Honecker " and was a member of the LDPD block party . In 1977 she married Peter Wieland. In 1981 they jointly received the GDR National Prize from Honecker. In 1983 the marriage was divorced. In 1984 she opened the new Friedrichstadtpalast with the first song sung there.
After the German reunification , she took over the television formats Meine Show , ARD-Sommer-Melodien and Wünsch Dir was alongside Dénes Törzs . From 2001 to 2009 she participated in the Elblandfestspiele Wittenberge and also took over the moderation of galas at the Elblandfestspiele on RBB television . In 2005 she hosted the Klassik Open Air concert at Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt . Between September 2008 and April 2011, Dagmar Frederic presented the program Schöne Wochen on the private radio broadcaster Radio Paloma on Saturdays . Due to a program reform, the broadcaster separated from Frederic and four other presenters.
In 2009, a dispute over the legacy of the former Deputy GDR Minister of Culture Siegfried Wagner, who died in 2002, made headlines. A probate court accused Dagmar Frederic of having stolen parts of the inheritance from Wagner's demented widow Brunhilde Wagner, who died in 2009. In October 2011, Dagmar Frederic was sentenced to repay 170,000 euros in this matter after having already repaid 60,000 euros in 2008. In 2007, the Frankfurt (Oder) public prosecutor's office conducted an investigation for tax evasion against her because she had not reported the donation to the tax office in good time .
From 2012 to 2015 Dagmar Frederic hosted the German Hit Parade on the Berlin radio station Radio B2 .
Brandenburg's Prime Minister Matthias Platzeck described Dagmar Frederic as the " Valente of the East". She is the patron of the Cottbus house of McDonald's Kinderhilfe and the Undine housing project of the social welfare organization of the Democratic Women's Association in Berlin-Lichtenberg .
Dagmar Frederic has been married for the fifth time since 2002. Her daughter Maxie Renner , born in 1985, performed as a singer as a child and occasionally in duets with her mother.
Dagmar Frederic lives in Berlin-Rahnsdorf .
Awards
Frederic was awarded the Golden Orpheus in 1981 , the same year together with Peter Wieland the GDR National Prize and the Golden Throat Prize in 1985.
In 2017 she was awarded the smago! Award with the “Honorary Prize for Artistic Versatility and Humanitarian Commitment”.
