Siegfried Uhlenbrock (born January 16, 1939 in Wismar ; † September 8, 2013 in Zeuthen ) was a German singer and composer .

Life

Siegfried Uhlenbrock grew up in Mecklenburg before the family moved to Zeuthen near Berlin. At the Musikfachschule Berlin he first completed a degree in piano and viola , which he continued at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin . The Erich Weinert Ensemble of the NVA trained him as a composer and arranger .

Afterwards Siegfried Uhlenbrock composed mainly hits for fellow artists and also appeared on stage as a singer. In 1966 he passed the GDR professional ID test.

In 1967 Uhlenbrock met the singer Dagmar Frederic . From then on they both formed the singing duo Dagmar & Siegfried , which until 1973 gained fame, especially in the socialist countries. In 1968 Du hast laughed became the most famous hit of the two. Uhlenbrock composed and wrote it. Gabriele Seyfert ran her freestyle in 1969 to win the world championship gold medal in figure skating for this title. In 2005 the title was voted number 5 of the top 20 most popular Eastern hits at the Golden Henne gala.

At the International Schlagerfestival der Ostseeländer they reached 1st place with dancing in the summer night . In the same year they also won the GDR hit competition with our summer trip . Frederic and Uhlenbrock also appeared in numerous television shows, including Ein Kessel Buntes , and tours took them to what was then the Soviet Union and South America. When Dagmar Frederic began a career as a soloist and television presenter, the duo broke up in 1973.

Afterwards Uhlenbrock was mainly a composer, founded a band in Leipzig and worked for the GDR children's television ( Liederspielplatz , Unser Sandmännchen ). He could no longer build on the successes in the duet. From 1984 to 2005 he designed children's musicals in Hoyerswerda . As an honor, he was allowed to enter himself in the city's golden book. He was married with a daughter and a son, the singer and actor Tim Morten Uhlenbrock , and lived in Zeuthen until his death .
