Career

Hofmann siblings (2008)

Girls were drawn to the stage at the age of six and nine. The two sisters presented their first own stage program (a two-hour musical show) on May 19, 1988 on the occasion of the 40th birthday of their father Josef (Sepp) Hofmann, who came from St. Magdalena in the Puster Valley in South Tyrol . Anita played Elvis Presley and Alexandra played the keyboard. The sisters had their first appearance in the same year in a marquee at the Gögginger beer festival with the Täle Buam .

From 1989 the two of them performed their own music show, a mixture of rock'n'roll, folk music, hit songs and pop at festivals and events in the region. For example, also on the regional radio station Radio RT 4 in the series with timpani and trumpets . Through these events, the Hofmann siblings achieved a high level of awareness in the Baden-Württemberg region. From 1990 various albums with popular hits were released ; later their repertoire developed into modern hits. The two sisters had their first television appearance in the same year on the ARD program Musikanten sind da . In 1992 they were finally discovered for television by Marianne and Michael . Since then, the duo has featured frequently in relevant television programs.

In 2005 they completed their first solo tour without borders across Germany (with the MDR television ballet and the Edelweiss Express). A sequel followed in 2006. There are TV tapes and a DVD of some of the performances. In 2006 and 2007, two TV shows were broadcast on SWR (the Hofmann siblings summer party on August 25, 2006 and the Hofmann siblings party time - a bit of fun must be on January 26, 2007). The premiere of the solo tour 20 Years Geschwister Hofmann took place on January 12th, 2008 in the Messkircher Stadthalle , with tour stops in almost 70 cities in Germany, Austria, Belgium and France.

In 2010, the singing duo ended their long-term collaboration with producer Jean Frankfurter and switched to Jack White , with whom the Hofmann siblings recorded their first CD together in 2011, We fly . Its title track And we fly is an adaptation of the song You and Me , which White produced for Ireen Sheer in 2006 .

They have been called Anita & Alexandra Hofmann since 2012 . The first release under the new name was the DVD “We fly tour”.

In 2013, Anita & Alexandra Hofmann celebrated their 25th stage anniversary with a fan weekend (anniversary gala & fan festival) on November 30, 2013 and December 1, 2013 in Europa-Park , an anniversary tour from January 30 to April 13, 2014, an album released on October 11, 2013, and a book published November 21, 2013. The whole thing was under the motto "We". In addition, the anniversary gala was recorded and broadcast on December 8, 2013 on SWR as a compilation. There is also a DVD from the anniversary gala.
