Guido Cantz
Guido Cantz (born August 19, 1971 in Porz am Rhein ) is a German television presenter , comedian and book author .
Career
After graduating from the Maximilian-Kolbe-Gymnasium in Wahn and then doing military service, he studied business administration at the University of Cologne from 1991 to 1994 and completed his training as a state-certified commercial media assistant at the Joseph DuMont vocational college in 1996 .
Cantz has been a speaker at the Cologne Carnival since 1991, initially as a "man for all cases", where he performs up to 250 appearances per session .
Since 1998 he can be seen regularly on television as a comedian and presenter. In addition to numerous guest appearances in comedy and satire shows such as the Quatsch Comedy Club , TV Total , Ottis Schlachthof or Genial besides , he presents his own entertainment formats as a presenter. He moderated the shows Karnevalissimo (ZDF), Kenn ich (Kabel 1), The Edgar Wallace Show (Kabel 1), Deal or No Deal (SAT 1) and How cool is that? (WDR). Since 2010 he has presented the Saturday evening show Do you understand fun? in the first and since 2013 you understand what? in the SWR. In August 2019, the result of a viewer survey made headlines, according to which Cantz was "unfriendly", "arrogant" and "artificial". In the media public, for example in the Münchner Merkur , this television criticism was rated as a " disaster ".
Cantz is a permanent member of the advice team of Meister des Everytags (SWR). Since 2006 he has been touring all over Germany with his own stage programs and in 2017 he celebrated his 25th stage anniversary "Blondiläum". Guido Cantz is the author of three books so far. He is also a co-commentator on the SWR1 hit parade and has been commenting on the Cologne Rose Monday procession on WDR since 2015.

Cantz has a brother, has been married since 2009, has a son since 2010 and lives with his family in Cologne-Porz. He's a Roman Catholic .

Cantz is an active football player in the old men’s team of SSV Troisdorf 05 . He played for SpVg Wahn-Grengel in the regional league and 1. FC Spich in the district league. He regularly competes (together with ex-professionals like Wolfgang Overath , Stefan Kuntz or Dariusz Wosz ) for the LOTTO-Elf Rheinlandpfalz for charitable purposes. He also plays the piano, accompanying himself with singing. The Porzer Fasteloovendszug on the Sunday before Rose Monday has its own motif car ( Cantz jeck ).
