history

The club was founded in March 1905 as FC Germania Troisdorf . In 1907, FC Germania merged with FC Adler Troisdorf, which had been founded the year before, to form Spielverein 1905 Troisdorf . In 1910 the game club was affiliated with the Troisdorf gymnastics club . In 1919 the football department merged with the 1915 Troisdorf ball game club and took the name Spielverein 1905 Troisdorf again. On April 30, 1922, the game club merged with the sports club of Mannstaedt-Werke Troisdorf to form today's SSV Troisdorf 05.

In 1930 the club made it into the top division with promotion to the special class. Three years later, the SSV missed the leap into the newly created Gauliga Mittelrhein. It was not until 1938 that the Troisdorfers reached the promotion round, where they were able to prevail against the Spvgg Andernach , Viktoria Kellersberg and Westmark Trier .

In the very first Gauliga season, the SSV was runner-up and only missed the title because of the poorer goal quotient compared to SpVgg Sülz 07 . A year later, the SSV lost in the final of the Middle Rhine Championship against Mülheimer SV 06 . After two years in midfield of the league, the club withdrew the team after the 1941/42 season.

After the end of the Second World War , six regional leagues were introduced, the champions of which determined the Middle Rhine champions in a final round. The Troisdorfers finished the finals tied with SG Düren 99 . The playoff for the championship was canceled when the score was 2: 2 in extra time from Troisdorf and Düren was declared the winner. In 1949 the SSV was accepted into the II. Division, but was relegated after only one year as the penultimate.

In 1951 the SSV Middle Rhine Champion took part in the amateur championship , which was held for the first time . The team reached the semi-finals via VfL Neuwied and Borussia Fulda , where the Troisdorfers lost 3-1 to Karlsruhe FV . In 1956, the SSV was again Mittelrheinmeister, but missed promotion to the 2nd Division. In the promotion round, Troisdorf took last place behind VfB Speldorf and Dortmund SC 95 .

After several years in the midfield of the Mittelrhein Association League , the SSV rose in 1963. It was not until 1978 that the club managed to return after the introduction of the Oberliga Nordrhein to an increase in promotion. Relegation to the regional league in 1986 was followed by relegation to the district league a year later. After a comeback in the meantime in the regional league, the club rose in 1997 for the first time in the county league. Since 2009 the SSV 05 only played in the district league B before it merged with the Sportfreunde Troisdorf in 2013 to form the Sportfreunde Troisdorf 05 .
