Fly with Me! was a quiz show moderated by Guido Cantz , in which two singles who only get to know each other on the show can win a trip or € 1,500 each. It was broadcast by Das Erste on Fridays at 6:50 p.m. from August 18, 2017 to December 1, 2017 . The first season comprises 15 episodes and was produced by i & u TV .

Game flow

Each show had a different destination that the questions revolve around. A female single competed against a male. Before the first question, each single chose a playing partner from two candidates. This was only deviated from in the fifth edition, the “Wedding Special”, in which two wedding couples vie for their honeymoon in Jamaica . In the first round, the pairs of candidates were alternately asked a total of ten questions, with a choice of three possible answers. A correct answer was rewarded with a point.

The second round consists of either-or questions. The first pair to reach eight points wins. The maximum five points achieved in the preliminary round counted. Whoever was in the lead started - if there was a tie, an estimation question decided. Here, too, the questions were asked alternately. A correct answer was given one point. If the answer was wrong, the opposing pair received one point.

In the end, the two victorious singles decided with the help of pilot trowels printed on both sides whether they wanted to travel together. If either or both of them chose “money”, each of them received € 1,500.

In May 2017 Das Erste announced a 15-part season of the new quiz show Flieg mit mir for the second half of the year, which was recorded by i & u TV in Hamburg at the end of June 2017 . The NDR is responsible for the broadcast . In June the start of the season was scheduled for August 18, 2017.

Odds

The first season reached an average of 1.63 million viewers per episode. The final edition had the highest audience rating on December 1, 2017 with 1.84 million viewers, which corresponded to a market share of 7.9 percent.

In his review of the first issues at DWDL.de , Timo Niemeier said that “the topics of vacation, travel and quizzes certainly offer the opportunity to put on an exciting and entertaining program. But that fails after a few seconds [...]. The show has the charm of a coffee trip for pensioners: no speed, no mood and certainly no tension. ”Niemeier criticizes Cantz's lack of humor several times. He comes to the conclusion: “Because 'Fly with me' is made with too little love and passion, [...] and the moderator is not really in the holiday mood, the new quiz show [...] will probably not be Uproot trees. David Grzeschik finds in his commentary on the first issue atquotemeter.de , "that many questions lack the curious or the funny".
