The AGF Video Research (AGF stands for Association Video Research ; by 2017 Television Research Partnership ) is an association of television and streaming providers in Germany , which on their behalf audience in the German motion picture market are measured Its headquarters are in Frankfurt am Main .

history

In 2017, the television research working group was renamed the video research working group. The renaming was accompanied by a restructuring of the company and a new licensing model was introduced so that the streaming data are also taken into account in the survey of audience ratings.

Members

The shareholders are the public broadcasters ARD and ZDF , as well as the ProSiebenSat.1 group, the media group RTL Deutschland ( Bertelsmann ), Sky Deutschland , Discovery Communications Deutschland , Tele 5 , Viacom and WeltN24 . Broadcasters that are not shareholders but receive data from AGF under a license agreement also have a say via the Advisory Board of Licensed Broadcasters (BLS).

tasks

An essential task is the implementation and further development of the continuous quantitative recording of the use of moving image content in Germany, including the collection and evaluation of the data.

In terms of content, the AGF not only decides on changes in the so-called panel, i.e. the statistical basis of the audience surveys (e.g. the inclusion of foreign residents), but also on the publication of the figures. Broadcasters that are not members do not per se have the right to evaluate their ratings, which were also determined in the course of the overall survey.

Since the beginning of 2016, the AGF has been publishing daily top 3 hit lists of selected stations as well as monthly market shares.
