The Pierre M. Krause Show is a late-night show , moderated by Pierre M. Krause , together with his sidekick Constantin Zöller , which is broadcast on Tuesdays at 11:30 p.m. on SWR television and can be viewed in advance on the official YouTube channel provided. Here, Krause interviews prominent guests in the studio, skits and short reports are also recorded, and national and international bands and musicians perform live and unplugged at the end of the program. The move to a larger studio took place on February 23, 2016. A new backdrop was built to make it clear that the broadcast “from the middle of the Black Forest ” was broadcast. The former studio was burned in December 2015.

    Previous broadcast

In January 2003 the program started under the name SWR3 Ring frei! The moderator was SWR3 music director Matthias Holtmann , and the new format was broadcast at 0:50 am. In keeping with the title, the studio was designed after a boxing gym. This changed with the change of moderator. In 2007 the program was renamed SWR3 latenight .

In January 2005, Pierre M. Krause took over the moderation from Holtmann, who switched to SWR1 Baden-Württemberg .

Content and categories of the broadcast

The program usually follows the pattern of a classic late-night show : It begins with a classic monologue by the presenter, there is a talk and music guest per episode, short reports, studio activities, as well as editorial films and skits. The show band SMAF provides the musical accompaniment. Mambo Kurt held this position from 2007 to 2017 .

    Recurring sections

    • Krause drives ... Pierre M. Krause travels through the broadcasting area by public transport. Programs created in this way are, for example, Krause drives Black Forest , Krause drives Middle Rhine or Eifel in Love , in which Krause drives through the Eifel in a regular bus and meets different people there. In the course of time the concept was extended to all of Germany. Krause even traveled as far as the North Sea in one broadcast.
    • Press in the Southwest: As part of the monologue, curious reports from regional newspapers are presented.
    • Google Translieder Krause competes against studio and / or music guest. Text lines of well-known songs translated by the Google translation function are played in the quiz. The players then have to guess which song it is in the original. Due to the limited airtime of the show, it became a kind of running gag to cancel the game and make it available exclusively on the show's YouTube channel.
    • Pierre inTeam Disguised as a kind of team building measure, Pierre accompanies one of the team members to one of their hobbies and just tries to deliver them. As part of this series, he appeared at a poetry slam event in a lecture hall and read a German translation of the song Cheri, Cheri Lady by Modern Talking .
    • Intern Pierre Pierre works for a day in a field that is unfamiliar to him. This rubric is the longest running rubric of the show. The professions are very diverse. Pierre has already worked for star hairdresser Udo Walz , in Europapark or at a bank. The latter was not a new experience for Krause, as he had already completed an apprenticeship at a bank before starting his television career.
    • Room beater! Pierre visits his audience at home and plays 3 unknown games each selected by the editors, which are not known to the moderator Pierre and the candidate (s). The intro slogan of the column is “One spectator, his home, three games - room-pounder!”.
    • The Voice only the other way around In this game, Krause competes against his guest in the studio. The guests in this case are musicians or songwriters. As the name suggests, the gameplay is similar to that of The Voice. The players are shown videos of singing candidates one after the other. In contrast to the real The Voice , the candidates see the singers but cannot hear them and have to guess whether the person can sing based on their facial expressions and gestures.
    • Men talk about feelings In the small clips in this category, Pierre M. Krause and Reiner Calmund are in a kind of living room. Both have a beer in hand and the whole table is lined with beer bottles and snacks. This scene always comes with a saying about male feelings.
    • The Telecholeric In the style of the Telekolleg , Krause is disguised as a teacher and explains, or at least tries to, various topics. There was no answer from the audience, which is why he freaked out, hence the name.
    • Asked, said! "The only quiz that doesn't need a buzzer, but has one!" That is the rubric's slogan. In this quiz, which is moderated by Michael Reufsteck , the candidates have to give three answers to a question and then buzz the questions. Krause and his guest have five seconds to answer. The questions often relate to things that are hard to come up with.

    Former sections

In the more than 10-year history of the show, a number of rubrics and mini-series were created that are republished at regular intervals on the show's social media channels.

    • Humor in the Stone Age Pierre M. Krause as a Stone Age person tells an old joke
    • CSI: Baden-Baden A parody of American series like CSI: Miami . The main roles are played by Krause and Michael Reufsteck .
    • Laschewski and Paul (2 seasons) A parody of the Tatort series on German television, with allusions to classic buddy cop films. The series was shot in the original locations of the Tatort films produced by SWR television . Laschewski is played by Krause himself, Paul is played by Christian Birko-Flemming .
    • Thoughts of power Their supposed thoughts are placed over the recordings of well-known politicians.

    25 years of ARTE

For the 25th anniversary of the Franco-German broadcaster Arte , a program with artistic standards was produced. The program is black and white, with French subtitles and Denis Scheck as a guest.

    Trivia
