Spiegel Daily ( spelling : SPIEGEL DAILY ) was an internet newspaper from Spiegel-Verlag , which was published Monday to Friday at 5 p.m. The first issue appeared on May 16, 2017. The discontinuation of Spiegel Daily was announced in April 2018, the last issue appeared on May 25, 2018. The Spiegel Daily brand was then used for a daily newsletter that was published in January 2020 in Die Location was renamed in the evening.

Spiegel Daily was published jointly by Der Spiegel and Spiegel Online . It was developed by a team led by Cordt Schnibben , with Timo Lokoschat and Oliver Trenkamp in charge of the editorial team . The development started in 2013 and the start was postponed several times. It was available for a subscription on cell phones, computers or tablets. It was free for subscribers to the digital mirror. The structure of Spiegel Daily was divided into the six levels News, Opinion, Stories, Social, Panorama and My Evening. Harald Schmidt contributed a column and Jörg Kachelmann provided a daily weather video.
