Timo Lokoschat

Timo Lokoschat (* 1979 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist and book author . He works as deputy editor-in-chief at Bild .

Life

Lokoschat studied politics, history and communication science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 2000 to 2004 and completed an apprenticeship at the German School of Journalism . He worked for the Abendzeitung from 2002 to 2016 with a one-year break , and from 2005 as a senior editor.

In 2010 he worked as program manager at Sanssouci Verlag , which is part of Carl Hanser Verlag .

From 2011 to 2014 he was vice local manager of the evening newspaper, from 2014 he was deputy editor-in-chief.

On August 1, 2016, he switched to Spiegel . When he was hired, his job was described as “Projects between print and online”, although it was announced in October 2016 that he was taking over the editorial management of the “ Spiegel Daily ”, which was presented at the same time .

At the beginning of 2018, the chairman of the Bild editor-in-chief, Julian Reichelt , brought him into the editorial team's management team. Among other things, he is supposed to take care of the "Bild plus" payment offer .

In June 2019 he was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief.

Lokoschat works as a lecturer at the Institute for the Promotion of Young Journalists . He has published several books.
