Köttelbach is a district of the local community Kelberg in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
Geographical location
Köttelbach is located on the northwest slope of the Hochkelberg . The stream of the same name is a left tributary of the Trierbach , which crosses the village.
history
Köttelbach is first mentioned in a document in the 14th century.
In 1563 Köttelbach is mentioned with 14 fire places. A chapel in Köttelbach is mentioned for the first time in 1719, but it was probably older, as a new chapel was already built in 1751. In 1817 the place had 138 inhabitants.
On January 1, 1970, the previously independent community of Köttelbach, with 146 inhabitants at the time, was incorporated into Kelberg.
