Lecabela Dias da Fonseca Quaresma (* 26 December 1989 in Água Grande ) is a Portuguese athlete from Sao Tome and Principe , which especially in the heptathlon competes, but competes in multiple disciplines and the National Records of Sao Tome and Principe holds.

Athletic career

In 2008 Lecabela took part in the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz in the 100-meter hurdles and was eliminated there in the qualification. In 2009 she took part in the Jogos da Lusofonia , could not finish her run there in the hurdles sprint, came fourth in the triple jump and won the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay in a new national record time. In 2012 she participated in the African Championships , where she was eliminated over the hurdles in the preliminary round and took sixth place in the triple jump in the final. By means of a bye, she was able to participate in the Olympic Games in London , where she was eliminated in the hurdles in the qualifying round .

Quaresma has been racing internationally for Portugal since 2014 and won the bronze medal in the heptathlon at the Ibero-American Championships in 2014. She reached fourth place at the 2016 championships. In 2017 she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade , where she finished seventh with 4444 points. At the 10th TNT Express Meeting in Kladno, Czech Republic, she improved her record to 6174 points and thus just missed a new Portuguese national record and qualification for the World Championships in London. But she moved into the field for the World Championships and finished 22nd with 5788 points . In 2018 she qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where she finished eighth with 4424 points. In the summer she took part in the European Championships in Berlin in both the triple jump and the heptathlon . While she was eliminated from the qualification in the triple jump with 13.87 m, she finished the heptathlon with 5950 points in 16th place. Then she was at the Iber-American Championships in Trujillo with 13.24 m fourth.

In 2014 she became Portuguese champion in the long jump and 100-meter hurdles, in 2016 in the heptathlon and in 2017 again in the hurdles. In 2015 and 2016 she was also the pentathlon indoor champion.
