Água Grande is a district of São Tomé and Príncipe and is located on the island of São Tomé .

With an area of ​​17 km², Água Grande is the smallest of the seven districts, but with around 69,500 inhabitants (2012) it is the most populous. Água Grande borders Lobata to the west and Mé-Zóchi to the south . The capital is São Tomé on the east coast of the island with approx. 53,300 inhabitants (2003); other localities in Água Grande include Pantufo , Praia Cruz , Riboque and Oque d'El Rei .
