Caué is a district of São Tomé and Príncipe and is located on the island of São Tomé in the Gulf of Guinea off the coast of West Africa in the Atlantic.

Caué borders Lembá to the west, Mé-Zóchi to the north and Cantagalo to the east and is the largest of the seven districts with an area of ​​267 km². Around 6,000 people lived here in 2012. The capital is São João dos Angolares on the east coast of São Tomé with 2,474 inhabitants. Other places in Caué are Santa Cruz (191 inhabitants), Dona Augusta , Mbombo , Nzumbi and Porto Alegre . The district, which also includes the island of Rolas , is largely covered by forest and difficult to access.
