Mambo Kurt
Mambo Kurt , bourgeois Rainer Limpinsel (born April 11, 1967 in Hagen ) is a German doctor, musician and solo entertainer . Since 1998 he has been playing pieces by well-known groups from the rock and pop area in rhythms such as mambo , ska and others on a home organ .
biography
In 1982 Limpinsel was North Rhine-Westphalia's best home organ player in the age group up to 14 years. He was discovered in 1997 by the members of the band Clawfinger , who immediately took him on tour after they saw him performing as a solo entertainer in a bar.
He became known to a larger audience primarily through Verona Pooth's TV show "Veronas Welt", in which Mambo Kurt provided the background music in 1999. His instrument is u. a. an analog Yamaha D-85 Electone home organ from 1980, "three manual, 120 kg, real wood, no veneer, 300 watt loudspeaker" . Sometimes he destroys his instrument at concerts.
He often appears as a side attraction at hard rock and metal festivals such as Wacken Open Air or With Full Force . Mambo Kurt not only plays an old-fashioned instrument in rock music, but also wears honest clothes in the style of the 1970s, preferably light-colored suits, and sunglasses when performing. He was also regularly seen from September 2006 to the end of 2017 in the program Die Pierre M. Krause Show .
Limpinsel studied medicine in the standard study period and became a surgeon . He made the decision to become a doctor during his community service . In 2002 he received his doctorate from the Ruhr University Bochum . He suffered from type II diabetes mellitus , which he overcame by changing his diet. In 2014 his autobiography Heimorgel to Hell was published .
