Malte Sebastian Pufpaff (born September 15, 1976 in Troisdorf ) is a German cabaret artist , presenter and entertainer .

Professional background

After completing his Abitur at the Siebengebirgsgymnasium in Bad Honnef and doing civil service , Sebastian Pufpaff studied law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1997 to 2000 . He then switched to political science , sociology and constitutional law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn , which he completed in 2008 with a Magister Artium . His master's thesis was entitled "The Modern Politician - Staging in Democracy". Besides his studies he worked a. a. as a product moderator in the RTL shop (2004–2005) and in the RTL newsroom (2001–2008). From 2006 to 2008 he also worked as a communication trainer and business actor at a consulting and training company in Biessenhofen .

Artistic career

By his own account, his last name brought him to comedy . According to Pufpaff, the origin of the name should be traced back to Hanseatic black powder dealers. In order not to be ridiculed, he went on the offensive, completed a comedy workshop and founded the cabaret trio "Das Bundeskabarett" in 2004 with Henry Schumann and Maxim Hofmann (replaced by pianist Martin Zingsheim in 2007 ), which was part of a tour program “A hard case” with Germany, its reunification and the conflict between East and West Germans dealt with.

As a solo artist he appears in the WDR broadcasts Mitternachtsspitzen , Fun (k) haus and Nightwash , as well as in nuhr im Erste ( RBB / WDR).

He received his first award as a solo cabaret artist in 2010 in the context of the German cabaret competition Prix ​​Pantheon , where he delighted the audience with “a sharp-tongued, insidious and politically wonderfully incorrect performance” that they honored him with the Audience Award Applauded & Booed. From 2011 he was on tour in Germany with his first solo program “Why!”, And since 2015 with his second program: “Auf Anfang”. From 2005 to 2009 he worked as an actor at the Springmaus improvisation theater in Bonn in the Springmaus Party Ensemble and also assisted Bill Mockridge as an assistant director.

Since 2013 he has presented the program Pufpaffs Happy Hour in the Berlin Kesselhaus in the Kulturbrauerei, which is broadcast by 3sat and ZDFkultur . In 2015, ARD launched “3. Floor left. Die Kabarett-WG “with Sebastian Pufpaff, Maike Kühl and Hannes Ringlstetter in the leading roles. Since February 2015 he has had several appearances on the ZDF heute show , often in the role of a lobbyist and representative of employer interests .

Private

Pufpaff is married and has two children. He lives with his family in Bad Honnef.
