After the format had been developed by Christopher Becker , Daniele Rizzo and RTL interactive in early 2015 , more than 50 episodes were created in three seasons under Christopher Becker as producer and headwriter. The RTL Group subsidiary UFA Lab contributed a smaller number of episodes.

In addition to the in-house productions, dubbings of the French Golden Mustache format were also released under the Comedy Rocket label.

After the end of the format, the Facebook page was renamed from Comedy Rocket to RTL Comedy .

On Facebook recorded comedy Rocket over 230 million video views. The clip Sex in the Bathtub reached over 18 million viewers on YouTube alone (as of January 2020).

The clip How relationships go broken was widely discussed in the media as a commentary on digitization and AI . Mac Life described the clip as "really funny and not that far-fetched".

In 2017, Comedy Rocket was nominated for the Golden Camera Digital Award in the Comedy category
