Mac Life is a monthly computer magazine of the falkemedia- Verlag in Kiel .

Mac theme

The main topics of the magazine, founded in 2000, are the Mac , the iPhone and the iPad from Apple and their operating systems OS X and iOS as well as software and hardware tests. Target groups are beginners and advanced users, primarily private users of Mac, iPhone and iPad users who work effectively with their devices but also want to have fun. That is why the magazine contains a section with lifestyle topics and games in the back third of the issue.

Sebastian Schack has been the editor-in-chief since 2014 . Articles on the topic of digital photography are often covered by authors from the publisher's own magazine DigitalPHOTO , articles on sound and music topics by authors from Beat magazine . On August 14, 2015 it was announced that the 12,000 subscribers of the discontinued competing magazine Macwelt will be taken over by Mac Life.

Sister magazines

In the period from August 2003 to September 2004, the same publisher published a bi-weekly newspaper called macnews / paper , which was designed in cooperation with the internet portal macnews.de . Despite the more up-to-date reporting and the anti-cyclical mode (all Mac magazines appear towards the end of the month, macnews / paper two weeks before and after), the project was unsuccessful and was discontinued or the newspaper was published in Mac Life magazine.

The falkemedia-Verlag also published the specialist magazine iPodLOVE , which deals exclusively with Apple's small MP3 players. Since the use of the name was contested by Apple, the magazine was published with a new title from summer 2006. Since the beginning of September 2006, the independent Mac Life special magazine called iPod & more , which is dedicated to the iPod , has been published four times a year . IPod & more then became iPhone & more , which was renamed iPhone Life between 2011 and 2014 and was joined by iPad Life between 2012 and 2014.

Between 2007 and 2015, the MAC easy magazine was also published , initially four times a year, later every two months. It was aimed at beginners and those switching from other operating systems.

From 2008 to 2010 another supplementary magazine appeared , MacGAMES , which is aimed at gamers and which is edited by the game authors of Mac Life.

Since 2015, Mac Life has been flanked by the bimonthly iPhone & iPad Life and the special edition series Mac Life Knowledge . Falkemedia has been publishing the MacBibel, a biannual compendium since 2009 , which has been accompanied by the iPhoneBibel since 2010 . The iPad Bible , which was launched in 2012, was incorporated into the iPhone Bible in 2014.
