Macworld

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Macwelt was a monthly computer magazine with a focus on products from Apple , software and accessories. This made the magazine one of the special interest publications. The magazine was published from 1989 to August 2015 and was one of the highest-circulation Mac magazines in Germany. The Macwelt was published by the International Data Group (IDG) publishing house in Munich, which includes Computerwoche and PC-Welt . Together with the PC world, the Mac world formed the IDG Tech Media GmbH division.

In the USA, the equivalent Macworld had been around since 1984. The print edition of Macworld was discontinued in 2014. Other international offshoots are Macworld editions in Great Britain, Sweden, Italy and Turkey, among others. In Germany, MACup and Mac Life were among the direct competitors. With the discontinuation of the magazine on August 14, 2015, it was announced that the 12,000 subscribers will be taken over by Mac Life. The website should continue to exist.

The Macwelt magazine was available in retail outlets with CD, and at some points of sale such as train stations there was also an edition without CD. In addition to the main issue, the editorial team produced other issues such as iPhoneWelt, which appeared every two months, as well as other special issues on various Mac-related topics. Most recently, the magazine was divided into four areas. In addition to news, there was a section for tests, practical articles and tips and tricks. The main focus of the Macwelt was on application-related instructions and tips.
