Verlag Werben & Sell GmbH is a specialist publisher for marketing , new media and communication with headquarters in Munich . It was founded in 1963 as Europa Fachpresse Verlag and is a subsidiary of Süddeutscher Verlag . The publisher publishes the magazine Werben & Sell (W&V) for the advertising industry .
history
The development of the publishing house began with the publication of the first edition of Kontakter in 1961. The work was published by the newly founded Europa Fachpresse Verlag , a limited liability company based in Munich. Two years later, the first edition of Werben & Sell appeared with a print run of 6300 copies.
In the period that followed, Werben & Sell magazine developed into the leading title in the advertising industry , with the circulation increasing to over 30,000 copies by June 2012. The print medium was supplemented in March 1997 by the W&V Online offering , which offered its own editorial content as well as selected articles from the printed edition. The reach of the website was estimated at 1.4 million unique visits in mid-2012 .
From 2004 to 2007, a total of seven thematically bundled magazines were published under the name Marketing-Journal , which dealt with brands and medium-sized companies, among other things. At the beginning of 2006, the publisher brought the editorial departments of all of its publications, including Kontakter and Werben & Sell , together under one management.
The reorganization led to the discontinuation of the marketing journal in 2008. The journal media & marketing , which primarily dealt with market research , was continued in a modified form under the name W&V Media . In addition, the first edition of W&V Praxis was published on February 28 , which is aimed specifically at company executives .
The European trade press publisher is May 11, 2009, effective on the newly established in October 2008 & Verlag GmbH Advertise Sell merged. In the same year the publisher acquired the media service Medien Aktuell , which was no longer continued. Instead, the subscribers were transferred to the contact .
In 2010 the publisher presented various apps for mobile devices with the Apple iOS operating system . The W&V Kiosk program makes it possible, among other things, to read a digitized version of Advertise & Sell on the iPad , comparable to an e-book . In addition, the W&V Collection was published in 2011 , which also provides content from W&V Media. In addition, a cooperation with the parent company became known in 2010 : Since then, the editorial team of Werben & Sell has been delivering selected content for the media section of the online edition of the Süddeutsche Zeitung .
On the dmexco 2011 was LEAD digitally another magazine presented. In contrast to Advertising & Selling, it dealt exclusively with digital media and related topics such as e-commerce and was initially published every two weeks. From January 2015 it appeared monthly and from January 2018 quarterly under the shortened name LEAD . It was discontinued in December 2019.
In January 2016, the contact's frequency of appearance was changed from weekly to bi-weekly. Since January 2019 Werben & Sell no longer appears weekly, but 15 times a year. The bi-weekly print edition of the Kontakter was discontinued in April 2019 . Since then it has only been published digitally.
