The Last Bull is an action comedy by Peter Thorwarth that was released in German cinemas on November 7, 2019. It is a feature film version of the crime series of the same name , which ran from 2010 to 2014 on Sat.1 .

The film is directed by Peter Thorwarth . As in the television series of the same name, Henning Baum can be seen in the role of Mick Brisgau, Maximilian Grill and Tatjana Clasing also play the roles of Andreas Kringge and the innkeeper Uschi Nowatzki in the series.

The film received production funding from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW in the amount of 900,000 euros and from the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern in the amount of 500,000 euros.

The shooting ran from September to November 2018 and took place mainly in the Ruhr area, including in Duisburg.

Doro Pesch contributed a new version of Bonnie Tyler's 1984 song Holding Out for a Hero for the soundtrack at the personal request of director Peter Thorwarth . The title is also included on the soundtrack, which is due to be released at a later date.

The film premiered on October 30, 2019 in the Lichtburg in Essen . The cinema release in Germany took place on November 7, 2019.
