Sonja is a German daily talk show that was broadcast from January 1997 to early 2001 on the private television station Sat.1 and moderated by Sonja Zietlow . Over the four years, 821 programs were made.

background

The show was in a studio in Hamburg turned and through to Axel Springer AG belonging Schwartzkopff TV Productions produced. With an average audience of 1.47 million and a market share of 17.4%, the show was above the TV average of Sat.1 at the time . At its peak, the show even had a higher market share of 21.5% than the successful talk show Hans Meiser . When the daily talk boom flattened out at the beginning of the new millennium, the audience ratings fell on all talk shows. Sonja was, however, less affected and although her ratings were still relatively good, Sonja Zietlow switched to RTL at the end of 2000 . In the course of this, the talk show was canceled at the beginning of 2001, despite good ratings, because Zietlow's move to RTL also had to end production. The last broadcast was filmed on October 30, 2000 and broadcast on January 5, 2001. It was called Sonja's Farewell Show . Sonja's successor Britt Hagedorn was a guest . Together, the two looked at, among other things, a review of the past four years.

The daytime talk place at 13:00 took Britt Hagedorn that from January 2001 to March 2013 there her talkshow Britt - Der Talk to one moderated. It was noticeable that Britt was produced in the same studio as Sonja . Although the studio had a new wall color and new furnishings, the floor plan was identical.

Since 2006, individual excerpts from Sonja and various other talk shows have been shown in the program Best Of Talk .

Topic selection

While many talk shows of the time were about topics that dealt more or less with sexuality or where people presented their extraordinary way of life, Sonja mainly dealt with topics in which guests had to resolve a conflict or, in her opinion, presented her perfect appearance, which in the new millennium after the fall of the daily talk wave became the focus of many other talk shows that struggled with low ratings. In the later phases (2000–2001) in particular, emotional topics were often chosen in which a guest made a confession of love or even wanted to marry someone.
