Hendrik Hey

Hendrik Hey (born January 4, 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist , presenter and producer .

education

After his birth in Hamburg, Hendrik Hey grew up in Solingen in North Rhine-Westphalia . He studied German , Romance studies , philosophy , political science , business administration and journalism .

TV career

After completing his studies, he worked for the television stations Das Erste , ZDF , Sat.1 , RTL and ProSieben . In the latter, he produced and hosted the show Welt der Wunder from March 10, 1996 to 2004, which was broadcast on RTL II from January 2005 to January 2014 and since 2015 on Welt . There is also a game and a book series for the show. Since autumn 2010 an IPTV has been added at wdwip.tv.

After he was the presenter and producer of the show Welt der Wunder for years , the new free TV channel of the same name started on October 16, 2013 , where he became program director .

Hendrik Hey is the majority shareholder of "Welt der Wunder Sendebetrieb GmbH", which owns the rights to the name of the eponymous program, as well as the owner of the special effects company "Circles & Lines GmbH" and was a member of the board of H5B5 Media AG , which was known as H5B5 Media GmbH until 2000 and has since been changed its name to Omiris AG.

Hey emerged victorious from a legal dispute against ProSieben over the brand name Welt der Wunder ; he can broadcast his program under the same name on RTL II. ProSieben, on the other hand, filled the old slot with the science magazine Wunderwelt Wissen , which was discontinued at the end of 2007. The channel change was apparently preceded by disagreements about licenses and their remuneration.

Hendrik Hey is currently producing the Ice Planet series .

Hey is a member of the national committee for the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. His hobbies include traveling, the martial arts Taekwondo and diving . He supports World Vision . He has two daughters and one son.
