United Charity is a non-profit organization based in Baden-Baden and Europe's largest charity auction portal. United Charity generates proceeds through online auctions with celebrities and large companies, which are then passed on to various children's aid organizations and projects without any deductions. Direct donations to the supported projects are also possible via the platform. Since it was founded, more than 9.6 million euros have been passed on to around 150 organizations in this way.
Foundation & goals
United Charity was founded in 2009 by the entrepreneurial couple Dagmar and Karlheinz Kögel . The goal of United Charity is to close funding gaps in children's aid organizations in order to alleviate the plight of children in Germany and worldwide. Organizations and projects from the areas of emergency aid, education, development, health, research and sport are supported.
organization
United Charity is divided into United Charity GmbH - Internet auctions, which operates the online auction portal and whose managing directors are Karlheinz Kögel and Nicole Spokesman, and the United Charity non-profit foundation GmbH, which manages the donations and, as a legal foundation under civil law, exclusively and directly non-profit Purposes. Dagmar Kögel is the foundation's patron. As a support foundation, the foundation is not itself operationally active. All proceeds that are collected through United Charity GmbH - Internet auctions are passed on to the foundation. No income is generated for their own financing, as the founding couple bears the personnel and administrative costs themselves. The United Charity non-profit foundation, in turn, donates the proceeds to the beneficiary children's aid projects.
Projects and auctions
The most important criterion for being supported as an organization or project by United Charity is the non-profit status. In addition, it is important to United Charity that the beneficiary projects are children's aid projects. In addition, long-term partnerships with the organizations are sought: organizations that can make many auction items available are given preference. It is irrelevant whether the auctions are carried out individually over the course of the year or whether several experiences or objects are auctioned at the same time. The size of the organization is also irrelevant: both organizations with a high profile and smaller, lesser-known organizations and institutions are supported. So far United Charity has forwarded donations to around 150 organizations, including for example:
- Bild hilft eV - A heart for children
- Stiftung RTL - We help children ( RTL donation marathon )
