The Fairchance Foundation is a charitable foundation under civil law and was in December 2009 in Berlin founded. The full-time managing director is the former state minister for integration of the state of Baden-Württemberg, Bilkay Kadem .

aims

The purpose is to promote child and youth welfare. The foundation is mainly operational and is particularly involved in promoting language and integration for children.

activities

The foundation conceived the language support program MITsprache and originally implemented it from 2011 as a model project at elementary schools and day-care centers in Berlin-Gesundbrunnen . As of 2018, the cross-institutional language support program is being offered at 51 institutions across Germany. The program is one of 52 winners in the Ideas for the Education Republic of the Initiative Germany - Land of Ideas competition in the 2012/2013 competition year and in 2014 received one of 12 Primus prizes from the Education and Society Foundation .

Scientific evaluation

The regular evaluation of the language support program as well as the scientific implementation support was carried out from 2011 to 2015 by the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich , which finally certified a significant increase in the language skills of the participating children.
