Markus Peichl
Markus Peichl (* 26. June 1958 in Klosterneuburg near Vienna) is from Austria originating journalist , producer and media entrepreneur who mainly as a founder of the magazine Tempo was known.
life and work
Markus Peichl was born in Klosterneuburg (Lower Austria) in 1958 and grew up in an artistic family. His father Gustav Peichl was a well-known architect and caricaturist, while his younger sister Ina Peichl received the Federal Film Prize for her work as a costume designer . Peichl studied law in Vienna . During his studies and even afterwards he worked as a freelancer for ORF and the daily newspaper Kurier .
From 1982 to 1985 he was editor-in-chief at Wiener magazine . In 1985 he founded the Zeitgeist magazine Tempo together with Lo Breier , who had previously been with him at the Viennese , whose editor-in-chief Peichl was until 1990. He then worked as a freelance media consultant and TV producer , including a. a. the formats 0137 (talk show on Premiere ) and Dasreal Leben ( docu-soap on MTV ) developed. In addition to his work for television stations such as Sat.1 , ARD and arte and magazine publishers such as G + J and Burda , he has produced more than 150 music videos since 1995. a. for Xavier Naidoo and Schiller .
In 1985, he was awarded the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize for his work About One Who Sits in Tempo .
From 2003 to 2007 Peichl was editor-in-chief and producer of the ARD talk show Beckmann . In addition, since 2002 he has headed the LeadAcademy for Media Design , which promotes visual quality in the print and online market and awards the LeadAward . In December 2007 Peichl launched the magazine Liebling , which was last published in November / December 2008. Since 2011 he has been managing director of the Galerie Crone in Berlin-Kreuzberg, run by his partner Andreas Osarek . Peichl lives in the Villa Perlis in Potsdam-Sacrow , designed by Leo Nachtlicht , which was used as a backdrop for the shooting of Weissensee . In March 2012 he became editor-in-chief of the ARD evening show Gottschalk Live (which was discontinued in June of the same year) .
