Ina Peichl

Ina Peichl (born March 18, 1960 in Klosterneuburg or Vienna ) is an Austro-American costume , stage and production designer .

Life

Ina Peichl was born as the daughter of the architect Gustav Peichl . Her brother is the journalist, producer and media entrepreneur Markus Peichl . At the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna she studied with Erich Wonder, among others .

From 1980 she initially worked for the theater, so around 1984 she designed the set and costumes for The Giants from the Mountains at the Wiener Schauspielhaus and the costumes for Horváth's Tales from the Vienna Woods at the Burgtheater . Since the mid-1980s she has also worked as a production designer for the film. In 1988, together with Birgit Hutter and Béatrice Stein-Leppert, she received the Federal Film Prize (later the German Film Prize ) in the Best Equipment category for the film adaptation of Schnitzler's Das weite Land , directed by Luc Bondy .

In 1990 she met in Paris the producers of the TV series Dallas , Leonard Katzman, know. He hired her there as art director and offered her to go to the United States . She moved to Los Angeles and later Dallas , where she worked as a production designer for the television series Walker, Texas Ranger . She also worked on music videos and commercials, and took both Austrian and American citizenship . In 1992 she married the director and cameraman Karl Kases , with whom she has two daughters. Daughter Josephin Kases (* 1992) works as an actress. In 2002 she returned to Europe and moved to Berlin , where she worked, among other things, at the Renaissance Theater .

For television she designed studios, for example for the talk show 0137 at Premiere and for ORF for the Die Barbara Karlich Show , for What's New? , the star night at the Wörthersee and in the Wachau and the Romy gala. Peichl is a member of the German Film Academy and in the association of production designers, film architects and costume designers .
