Association of production designers, film architects and costume designers
The Association of Production Designers, Film Architects and Costume Designers in Europe e. V. (SFK), based in Munich, is an advocacy group founded in 1983 for set designers , film architects and costume designers in the film profession .
It represents its members externally and advocates recognition of their copyrights to cinematographic works.
In the opening and closing credits of a film, the abbreviation SFK after the name indicates the membership (e.g. costume: Gudrun Schretzmeier SFK ).
In August 2013 the S / F / K Association was renamed VSK Association of Professional Groups Scenography and Costume Design e. V.
VG Bild-Kunst sponsorship award for best costume design / best production design as part of the Hof Film Festival
The prize was inspired by the Film and Television Department of Production Design at the HFF Munich. It has been awarded since 1997 by a jury made up of representatives from the professional association of production designers, film architects and costume designers (formerly S / F / K, now VSK) and the production design course at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg. In 2007 it was not awarded. Until 2008, the award consisted of a bronze sculpture.
In 2008 it was expanded to include the award for the best costume design, and in 2010 it was also possible to obtain funding from the Kulturwerk foundation of VG Bild-Kunst and Theaterkunst GmbH costume equipment. The award has consisted of a certificate since 2004 and is now called the Bild-Kunst Award for Best Production Design and Best Costume Design. Since 2010 it has been endowed with € 2,500 each.
The jury in 2013 was made up of Gudrun Schretzmeier (costume designer, VSK), Prof. Ingrid Lazarus (costume and production designer, VSK), headed by Anna Heymann (set designer VSK), Irene Edenhofer-Welzl scenographer (VSK), Heike Lange (production designer, VSK) and Marlen von Heydenaber as a representative of the production design course at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy.
