Frei Schnauze or Frei Schnauze XXL was a German improvisation comedy show that was broadcast on RTL TV from 2005 to 2008 .

Concept and content

Four comedians are given tasks by the game master and have to prove their talent for improvisation. There's no script and the comedians don't know what to do.

The recurring games include the question game , in which the comedians are only allowed to talk in question form, and the A to Z game , during which two of the comedians have to conduct a dialogue, with the individual sentences beginning with A. must start with the next letter in the alphabet. The letters X and Y cause particular difficulties , whereby the sentences often begin with names (e.g. Xanthippe ), English (yes) or misspelled German words ( ya ). Often a kind of sweetheart is played in which three of the comedians are assigned a role and the fourth (due to the many male comedians mostly a woman) ultimately has to guess who or what the "candidates" are. Quite often a song is improvised, which is accompanied by Helmut Zerlett on the keyboard.

The game master gets suggestions for the topics of the games (for example the topic of the dialogue in the A to Z game ) from the audience.

Since October 2006, an XXL version of Frei Schnauze has been broadcast on Saturdays for a full hour instead of the previous 30 minutes. The improv comedy was produced by Hurricane Fernsehproduktion GmbH in MMC Studios in Hürth-Kalscheuren .

occupation

Initially Mike Krüger was the game master; in the second season he was replaced by Dirk Bach . In addition, Barbara Schöneberger and Mirco Nontschew were mostly part of the ensemble in the first season, which was supplemented by two other comedians. This concept was changed in the second season, so that there was no longer a "regular cast".
