Herbert Knebel
Herbert Knebel (born September 22, 1954 in Duisburg-Neumühl ) is a fictional character of the cabaret artist and comedian Uwe Lyko . Herbert Knebel is the head of the Herbert Knebel Affentheater group .
(Pseudo) biography 1954 until today
The former miner Herbert Knebel lives with his wife Auguste "Guste" in Essen - Altenessen . Herbert Knebel spent his youth in Duisburg-Neumühl and worked underground on a colliery in Essen-Altenessen until he had to retire early in 1988 because of a pneumonia . Not much is known about his children, only that he has a son named Peter, while his two grandchildren "Marzel" (Marcel) and "Jackeliene" (Jacqueline) are regularly featured in his stories. His best friends include Ernst Pichel, Ozzy Ostermann and the "trainer" with whom he founded the Herbert Knebel Affentheater, a pensioner band in 1988. The band plays mainly cover versions of popular classics of rock and pop music , provided with humorous texts in German. So z. B. the Beatles classic Lucy in the sky with diamonds to Mutti screams when you come home and Bob Dylan's Knocking on Heaven's Door to Nackend am Baggerloch .
Herbert Knebel also writes books and publishes CDs, where he regularly mentions and discusses many friends and acquaintances, such as Kurt Harras, Helmut Borsig, his neighbor (from above) Jens Pickermann, the Kotnick family and "Mörtel" a hardcore craftsman.
Whoa, think ... I will ask you! is the often used opening sentence of his long monologues in the television program Mitternachtsspitzen . In it Knebel reports on his life as a pensioner and the everyday occurrences that he encounters in life and repeatedly astonish him. His stories are characterized on the one hand by content-related wit and on the other hand by puns, due to Knebel's brilliant and sometimes idiosyncratic use of the Ruhrpott dialect.
For Herbert Knebel's 20th anniversary, the double DVD “I think I'm going to break…!” Was released in 2008. It contains solo pieces as well as pieces together with the monkey theater and the short film "Herbert's Welt".
