Joachim Llambi (born July 18, 1964 in Duisburg ) is a German - Spanish tournament dancer , judge and television presenter . Since the end of his career as a professional tournament dancer, he has worked as a judge in the professional and amateur association. biography

Llambi was born in Duisburg in 1964 as the son of a Spaniard from Barcelona and a German and grew up there. After graduating from high school in 1984 at Neudorf grammar school in Duisburg, he began training as a banker at Sparkasse Duisburg . At the end of the 1980s he switched to the Düsseldorf Stock Exchange as a stock broker , and from 1997 to 2012 he worked as a stockbroker on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange .

At the age of 16 he took his first dance class; his mother worked as a secretary in a dance school. In 1989 he switched from amateurs to professional dancers and took part in world and European championships. From 2003 to 2011 he was the media representative of the German Professional Dance Sports Association (DPV). From 2012 to 2016 he was managing director of the Professional Division of the DTV (German Dance Sports Association).

Since 2006 he has been a member of the jury for the television show Let's Dance , a dance competition in which celebrities compete against one another alongside a professional dance partner. In July 2011 he was with Andrea Kiewel in the RTL show Es kann nur E1NEN give to see. In addition to Mark Medlock and Sandy Mölling , Llambi was a member of the jury for The Singing Company . Together with Mirja Boes , he hosted the pilot episode of the game show boys versus girls, which was broadcast on RTL in April 2012 . He is now a permanent presenter of this program. From September 2016 to 2018 Llambi hosted the new edition of the show Jeopardy! at RTLplus . In 2016 he dubbed the character of the strict dance teacher Mérante in the animated film Ballerina . Since April 2019 he has hosted his own RTL program Llambis Tanzduell , in which two professional dancers known from Let's Dance compete against each other in order to learn a new, unknown dance under different conditions. At the end of the broadcast, Llambi decides on the victory by awarding points.

Private

Llambi married his dance partner Sylvia Putzmann in 1990, from whom he separated in 2003 when he met his second wife, Ilona , from the Czech Republic . He married her in 2005. They have one daughter; his stepdaughter (* 1999) comes from Ilona's previous marriage. In September 2018, the couple's separation was announced; According to media reports, they have been a couple again since May 2019.
