RTLplus is a special interest channel of the RTL Group , which is aimed primarily at female viewers aged 45 and over and primarily serves the so-called best agers . It started broadcasting on June 4, 2016. In 2017, the station had a market share of 0.9% among 14 to 49 year olds in Germany. The RTLplus program consists largely of documentary soaps and court programs .

This program is supplemented by the relaunch of game shows that have already been discontinued, new episodes of which have been produced especially for RTLplus (in autumn 2016, winter 2017 and summer 2017) and will be broadcast. These game shows include a. Family duel , Jeopardy! , Wheel of Fortune , Ruck Zuck and from autumn 2017 to 2018 also The price is hot . Since February 2018, the game shows have only been broadcast in the night program due to lower audience numbers.

RTLplus not only produced game shows, but also:

  • 35 years of RTLplus - The great cult evening , an anniversary program on the mother station RTL Television, which was initially called RTLplus. The show aired in February 2019. Moderation: Wolfram Kons and Angela Finger-Erben

Reissue of game shows

Even before it started broadcasting, the RTL media group announced that it would have several new editions of older game shows produced.

The new edition of the family duel game show , which was moderated by Werner Schulze-Erdel from 1992 to 2003 , has been moderated by Inka Bause since autumn 2016 . Since then, Joachim Llambi has hosted the Jeopardy! presented by various moderators between 1990 and 2000. The game show Ruck Zuck is moderated by Oliver Geissen .

Jan Hahn , former presenter of Sat.1 breakfast television and now presenter of Guten Morgen Deutschland on RTL, has been leading the new edition of the wheel of fortune since September 2016 . This show was broadcast on various ProSiebenSat1 media group channels between 1988 and 2005 .

From 2017 to 2018 there was also a new edition of the game show The price is hot , moderated by Wolfram Kons and Thorsten Schorn .

All game shows have been produced in the nobeo studios in Hürth since June 2016 and have been broadcast since September 2016. The production of the family duel , Ruck Zuck and The price is hot is taken over by the UFA Show & Factual ; Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune are produced by Sony Pictures .

With a few exceptions, the RTLplus program consists of old series or episodes that have already been broadcast on RTL .

From noon the station will broadcast various court shows, including The Criminal Court , The Family Court and The Juvenile Court . Since autumn 2016, new editions of older game shows such as the family duel , Jeopardy! , Jerk Zuck and Wheel of Fortune shown. From autumn 2017 there was also a new edition of The price is hot . All broadcasts had low ratings from 2018 onwards, so the shows were discontinued in the evening in summer 2018 and have only run on night programs since then.

On Fridays (since spring 2019 also on Wednesdays), the evening program mainly broadcasts comedy programs such as Das Amt , Ritas Welt , Die Camper , Nikola , Alles Atze , Mein Leben & Ich or Arme Millionär . Furthermore, court broadcasts are broadcast on Saturdays and Medicopter 117 - Every life counts as a rule on Sundays . Channel logo and design

  • From June 4, 2016 to October 15, 2019 the design and logo was in red-gray-white tone.

  • Since October 16, 2019, the design and logo has been kept much more colorful, which is now more of a red-blue-purple-green tone. It should look more modern. The basic design has not changed, and the corner logo has also remained the same.
