hundkatzemaus is an animal show on the German TV station VOX , which was first broadcast in 2001. With around one million viewers per program, it is the most successful animal magazine on German television. On November 12, 2011, the 500th episode was broadcast.

The series deals with all sorts of topics related to pets and animals in human hands.
The presenter Diana Eichhorn visits owners of pets or exotic animals as well as experts such as animal trainers, animal photographers, zoologists and scientists and talks about the special features and characteristics of the species, the requirements for keeping and the special features of care. In addition, she gives practical tips on animal-friendly husbandry in service articles and tests products for pets.
The veterinarian Dr. Wolf treats animals and gives viewers information about their diseases and treatment. This part of the broadcast is recorded in the veterinarian's office or with other specialized veterinarians. Some contributions were also shot in Namibia.
Since September 13, 2008, the program has also increasingly focused on different animal welfare issues. The Hamburg animal shelter, Frank Weber , takes on incorrect posture, animal problem cases or other issues that require the intervention of an animal rights activist.

With a few exceptions, such as B. a lurid report about unproven high annual numbers of dogs and cats being shot by hunters , the consequences get a positive response from the audience.
