RTL Passion (until November 11, 2015: Passion ) is a German pay TV broadcaster of the RTL Group . The station started on November 27, 2006. Because of the involvement of other partners, the RTL add-on was also dispensed with, as is known from the chargeable stations RTL Living and RTL Crime . The program is increasingly aimed at female audiences and shows telenovelas , romantic TV series and soaps .
The program is currently being organized by RTL Television GmbH on the basis of the license granted for the RTL World Bouquet .
The program is marketed for a fee in the digital offerings of German cable network operators as well as via IPTV . From January 1, 2008 to July 16, 2018, RTL Passion could also be subscribed to via the pay-TV channel Sky as part of the Entertainment program package (formerly Sky Welt ).
From November 13, 2012, Unitymedia Kabel BW will also broadcast the HD version RTL Passion HD . In contrast to the other HD channels of the RTL Group, this channel is not broadcast with the recording and forwarding locks known from HD + .
On January 16, 2013, RTL Passion introduced new logos and a new on-air and off-air design for its channels.
By the end of December 2014, UFA owned 49.6 percent of the station. These were taken over by the RTL Group at the beginning of 2015, so that the station is now entirely in the hands of the station group. The name was changed to "RTL Passion" on November 12, 2015.
