In digital television , video, audio and data streams are sent to the television viewer via the feeder network , i.e. cable, satellite or radio. The service providers group several digital programs into an overall offer , the bouquet (from French bouquet [ buˈkɛ ], "bouquet; bunch") and manage the access rights ( pay TV ) if necessary .

In the MPEG transport stream , the bouquet_id field in the Bouquet Association Table (BAT) enables a clear identification of the bouquet, since these values are assigned individually to the program providers .

The term bouquet is often confused with the related term transponder . A transponder, however, is a physical combination of several data streams on a frequency band; A bouquet is a virtual grouping of services that can also extend over several transponders.
