action

Marimar is a poor, young and uneducated girl who lives with her grandparents in the hut on the beach. But when she was in dire straits and Nicandro almost raped her, Sergio (the son of wealthy farmer Renato Santibáñez) came and saved her. Marimar falls in love with him. But Sergio takes advantage of their love to wipe out his father and stepmother Angélica and marries Marimar. Angélica hates Marimar because of her innocence and lack of knowledge about the world and wants to get rid of her. When Sergio gets wind of this, he wants to go away and earn some money to buy a safe house for Marimar and so that she stays far away from Angélica. But Angélica tells the police that Marimar stole her bracelet, whereupon Marimar is jailed. Then Angélica wrote a false letter to Marimar and passed it off as Sergios; it says that he doesn't want to have anything to do with her anymore and that he never loved her. Angélica sends Nicandro (the house servant) to the hut to burn her and kill her grandparents. All of this and the aftermath of the grandparents' deaths bring Marimar to vengeance.

After being released, Marimar goes to Mexico with Padre Porrez (the pastor) to look for work. When she finally finds work at Gustavo Aldama and she reminds him of his daughter, he teaches her to read, write, speak eloquently and dress elegantly, whereupon he finally finds out that she is pregnant.

Now that she has learned everything, she recalls her revenge on the Santibáñez. Eventually she finds out that Gustavo Aldama is her birth father. To disguise herself, she pretends to be Bella Aldama. Shortly after Gustavo has signed over his shares to his biological daughter Marimar, he dies. Then she had her child and named it after her grandmother (Cruzéta).

She is now the owner of her late father's club and wants to continue to pursue her revenge. She wants to bind the Hacienda Santibáñez to her. Angélica has also given birth to a son. When Sergio learns that Marimar is no longer in San Martin de la Costa, he confronts his parents. But they claim that they have no idea and that their grandparents died. Sergio begins to wonder if Bella might be Marimar after all.

Renato now works for Bella (Marimar) and advises Angélica to go to Mexico with him. But when Angélica meets Bella, she is shocked because the resemblance is amazing. Sergio is now in a relationship with Natalia and wants to marry her. But when Bella asks him about it, she inadvertently confesses to him that he is already married, whereupon he again doubts whether she is actually Bella. Eventually, her real identity comes to light and Sergio is mad at her and wants his daughter. Meanwhile, Marimar is planning a big surprise for Angélica. She is supposed to use her teeth to get the promissory notes that she needs for her son, who is currently in a coma, out of the mud (just as she used to have to get the bracelet out of the mud), whereupon Angélica also seeks revenge. In the meantime, Marimar has tied the hacienda to himself and throws Angélica out. But shortly afterwards, Angélica dies of burns in a car accident, whereupon Renato seeks revenge for Angélica. But Sergio, who is now married to Innocenzia, stands by Marimar's side because he still loves her and wants to win her back. When Marimar finally learns that it was not Sergio but Angélica who wrote the letter to her, Marimar is relieved and marries Sergio and they live happily ever after.
