David Hain (born August 6, 1981 ) is a German game editor and web video producer . On YouTube , he operates the German-language video channel BeHaind with around 480,000 subscribers. He became famous as an editor and moderator at GIGA .

Career

Time before GIGA

After dropping out of his media informatics studies at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin , Hain turned to the video game industry . He worked for three years as an editor at digital-movie.de , in 2008 he was responsible for video games and movies at gamona.de . Some time later he switched to funload.de , where he again worked as a game editor .

GIGA

After ECONA AG took over GIGA on March 1, 2011, David Hain switched from funload.de to GIGA and became editor-in-chief . A few months after the takeover of the group, however, Hain gave up the role of editor-in-chief and worked as head of video editing. Although he still irregular wrote articles and tests for the games sector, since he was the cooperation with the gigas YouTube - Network Media force mainly responsible for the video content on the games sector. In addition to the video work for GIGA.de , Hain has already been invited several times to larger and smaller specials in the YouTube scene, such as the live format Last Man Standing , on which other web video producers such as Gronkh , Sarazar and PietSmiet also participated.

In September 2013, he and GIGA separated from each other. He complained that the content was brought into line with the mass market and that it was designed specifically for the short attention span of today's young people. His termination and the reasons should initially not be mentioned, as it was feared that GIGA would suffer a drop in the number of clicks and viewers would express their solidarity with David Hain and turn away from GIGA. In the 132nd episode of Radio GIGA on October 4, 2013, he announced his departure from the game magazine. David cited his declining interest in written journalism and the desire for his own project as the reason for leaving. In GIGA News the following day, he was seen for the last time as permanent video editor. His departure largely triggered negative reactions in the community, as David Hain has often been the face behind the brand since ECONA took over GIGA.

Youtube channel

After leaving GIGA, David Hain founded his YouTube channel BeHaind on September 25, 2013 , which currently has over 480,000 subscribers. In addition to his main channel, he runs a second channel called Sieg Hain together with Fabian Siegismund . It was nominated three times for the German Web Video Award and won it twice. As a result of his criticism of the web video price, he disposed of it when moving in April 2018. His channel BeHaind belongs to the Divimove network .

Participation in other projects

From March 13 to November 5, 2015, Hain and Fabian Siegismund presented the weekly program Let's Play Together , which was broadcast live on MyVideo , YouTube and Twitch . He also moderated the third edition of the Last Man Standing event, again with Fabian Siegismund, on August 8, 2015. Since August 15, 2015, he has been supporting the DoktorFroid channel on the weekly program 1080 NerdScope , which has been paused since 2017. His format Hainspiel was broadcast on the Internet station RTL II You .

Since September 2, 2016, he has been moderating the #PrimeTalks format on YouTube , which deals with series and films on Amazon Video and is published by Amazon.

He is regularly featured in productions by YouTuber HandOfBlood . A making-of video revealed, among other things, that David Hain does all of his stunts himself.

With Robin Blase , Hain discusses topics that move the YouTube world in the podcast Blasphemy Sisters .

He also appears more frequently in videos on the Tinseltown YouTube channel . Here he often deals with film-related topics.

Since February 2020 it has had a monthly format on the gTV_DE channel called "Firsts". In this format, it covers various features from video games and finds out which video game was the first to use this feature .
