Guido Neumann (born April 5, 1932 in Wieda ; † February 13, 2009 in Winsen ) was a German lawyer . He became known as the TV judge for the ZDF broadcast Streit um drei .

Life

Guido Neumann studied in Münster and Hamburg Law and graduated in Lower Saxony and Hamburg, the legal traineeship. He then worked as a lawyer in Lüneburg and as a court assessor in Celle and Hanover. This was followed by activities as a judge at the regional court in Stade and as a public prosecutor . In this capacity he appeared unsolved in the fourth episode of the series Aktenzeichen XY on March 15, 1968 with Eduard Zimmermann in front of the television cameras of the ZDF in Wiesbaden .

Neumann then moved to the district court in Winsen / Luhe, with which he remained connected until his retirement. He initially worked as a district judge for guardianship cases , criminal and civil law and was appointed director of the district court in 1977. In 1997 Neumann retired at the age of 65.

After his retirement he worked as a consultant at ZDF for the series Streit um drei , in which Eugen Menken was the first TV judge to judge fictional cases in a daily series. After Menken's exit from the series, Neumann succeeded him as TV judge in 1999 and spoke judgments in over 500 cases, the disputes often consisting of petty matters. The roles were not infrequently taken on by professional actors and sometimes guest stars such as Hans von Borsody and Brigitte Mira . In some episodes Neumann acted in addition to his judge role as a dubious applicant or witness until the series was discontinued in 2003 due to strong competition from private broadcasters.

Neumann died on February 13, 2009 of complications from a heart attack.
