The spin cycle is a German television series in now three seasons to six episodes that aired from Bayerischer Rundfunk from April 5, 2013, April 25, 2014 and July 29, 2015 on a weekly basis. The focus of Bavarian stories is the actress Gisela Schneeberger as the laundry owner Christa Bachmeier. Is produced in the spin cycle of the Munich production company Infafilm GmbH Manfred Korytowski for Bayerischer Rundfunk; The film has been shot since 2012. The director is Austrian Paul Harather ( India , Schlawiner ), the scripts are written by Peter Bradatsch ( Franzi ).

action

A Schwabing laundry has been owned by the Bachmeier family for generations and is run by the attractive, resolute, yet lovable, spirited Christa Bachmeier (Gisela Schneeberger). She is the focus of the series as boss, mother, lover and friend.

Christa's daughter is called Sieglinde and is best described with the term 'problem child'. The relationship between daughter and mother is constantly fraught with conflict and needs to be dealt with honestly.

There are two men in Christa's life: the master hairdresser Freddy Biber, with whom she maintains a familiar, smoldering relationship that has lasted for about twenty years, and the house friend Max Vonderthann, a noble ex-opera singer who keeps himself afloat with singing lessons. Max is in the truest sense of the house friend, because he lives in the house, is allowed to use Christa's piano and is spared rent increases.

Christa Bachmeier's closest colleague and confidante is Gitti. She is struggling with excess weight and sore feet and is thoroughly 'good skin'. The second employee in the laundry is Michi, an attractive man in his mid-thirties with a tendency to have a second job and a passion for one or the other not-so-clean "shop".

occupation

Christa Bachmeier

Gisela Schneeberger plays the attractive, lively, mostly resolute and yet lovable spirited Christa Bachmeier, businesswoman and owner of the Bachmeier laundry. As boss, mother, lover and friend, she is at the center of the stories. She runs her small business with an almost casual sense of duty and an enormous urge to belong to better Munich society - and is otherwise blessed with an impulsive self-confidence and at times a strenuous character.

Freddy Beaver

Gerd Anthoff plays Freddy Biber, master hairdresser and for many years the loving relationship with Christa. Freddy was always there: first as a friend of Christa's husband Erich, then as a comforter and at some point also as a lover - always on Mondays and always secretly for a break at the hotel. He is a man of many words, loves his Christa, but even after five years as a divorced man he cannot openly confess to her ... not yet.

Sieglinde Bachmeier

Judith Richter plays Sieglinde, Christa's daughter. Your self-esteem is more than unstable; She broke off various vocational training courses. After inpatient therapy, she temporarily moves back in with her mother. The relationship between daughter and mother tries to be harmonious, subliminally charged with conflict and sometimes downright speechless. Sieglinde secretly never stopped blaming her mother for the breakup of the family - after her father Erich ran off to Bulgaria with a hairdresser when she was a child.

Max Vonderthann

Udo Wachtveitl is Max Vonderthann, a former opera singer and slightly exalted gentleman with a silk scarf and good manners. Max has definitely seen better days, but takes it with composure. He has lived in Christa's house for ages and is allowed to give singing lessons on her piano. He flatters that Sieglinde prefers to seek advice from his father, Uncle Max, in conflicts with her mother. The fact that he had something with Christa a long time ago is discreetly ignored. At the barber shop Freddy Biber, however, he sees red.

Gitti

Maria Peschek is Gitti, an employee in the laundry and closest confidante of Christa. She is loyal, friendly, hardworking and reserved. She often tries to mediate between mother and daughter. Sometimes Christa's relationship with her is genuinely friendly, but mostly more boss-friendly. Gitti struggles with being overweight and having sore feet, is thoroughly 'good skin' with an unmistakable feeling for wrong notes. Your long-suffering is admirable - but sometimes even this reaches its limits.

Michi

Stephan Zinner is Michi, the second employee in the Bachmeier laundry. He is always in a good mood, sometimes erratic, has many unconventional ideas and even more solutions. Even if his work ethic in the laundry is not the best, Christa can rely on him - but especially to her daughter Sieglinde, Michi is always like a reliable brother. The man in his mid-thirties can't make ends meet just with his laundry service. That is why he needs a second job and indulges the passion for one or the other not-so-clean "business".

consequences

Episode 1 - To the Pope in Rome

It's Monday afternoon, and as has been the case for years, the hairdresser Freddy Biber is meeting the attractive Christa Bachmeier for two hours together - in a hotel on the outskirts of the city. While Christa and Freddy decide in the hotel over coffee and petit fours for a new future without any secrets, Christa is surprisingly invited by a customer who is one of the finest circles in Munich to go on a trip to Rome with an audience of the papacy. This is the ultimate for Christa, because she really wants to belong to better society. Suddenly Sieglinde is at Gitti's laundry. She is Christa's daughter and was discharged earlier than planned after long inpatient therapy and would have very much wished her mother picked her up. When Christa returns to her apartment, completely intoxicated by the upcoming papal trip, she listens at the door and hears Sieglinde pouring out her heart to the long-time friend of the family, Max Vonderthann. The first meeting of the two women is therefore an eloquent catastrophe, and Max struggles not to be worn between mother and daughter.

Episode 2 - Lake Garda

Hustle and bustle in the Bachmeier home: while Christa enthusiastically packs her things for a weekend with Freddy, Max scoffs at the two of them downstairs in the laundry. Sieglinde is also extremely uncomfortable that her mother wants to go to Lake Garda for a love weekend with the hairdresser Freddy of all people. With luggage and bread bag in hand, Freddy waits restlessly and at a safe distance in front of the laundry. When Christa finally turns the corner, he gets into the car with her. The trip to Italy together ends abruptly when Freddy casually mentions that his ex-wife Gabi is also traveling at the weekend. At Christa all alarm bells go off immediately! And the fact that Gabi is still on Freddy's living will five years after the divorce brings the barrel to overflowing. Lake Garda is canceled! In the laundry, Sieglinde asks family friend Max to spend the weekend away from home, because she wants to use her mother's absence to face her fears of being alone. Max agrees and to his astonishment meets Christa in front of the laundry. The two indulge in shared, sentimental memories when suddenly Freddy reappears and asserts that from now on he wants to go full throttle with Christa in every respect. The vacation seems saved! But as soon as they drove off, the phone rings ...

Episode 3 - Falco!

The Bachmeier laundry knows many eccentric customers: But the fact that suddenly a self-proclaimed Falco doppelganger stands in the laundry, who knows many details about the Bachmeier family and is looking for Christa's daughter Sieglinde, leaves even the resolute boss Christa speechless. While Sieglinde is looking at a room in a shared apartment with Michi, this Austrian Falco guy reveals to the astonished laundry ladies that he met Sieglinde in therapy together and that they want to live together. After her return, Sieglinde and Falco retreat to the mother's apartment, where they lively and together with their family friend and ex-opera singer Max, lash out at Christa's overwhelming dominance. When Christa notices this, she first throws Falco out. Discussions follow about the disappearance of Sieglinde's father, who many years earlier had started a hot affair with a Bulgarian hairdresser and because of this he left Christa and little Sieglinde. In a hot exchange of blows in the laundry, in which the hairdresser Freddy is supposed to confirm the true, lousy character of Christa's husband, completely different truths come to light.

Episode 4 - Chakalaka

It's Monday afternoon again, and when Christa comes home from her lunchtime with Freddy, she is almost hit when she meets a naked African in the hallway. During the test cooking, Sieglinde proudly reports on concrete plans to open an "African Home Cooking Service" with Émile and other friends and asks her mother about an early partial payment of her inheritance. Before things get too hot, Christa disappears into her laundry. The next shock awaits her there, because Michi proudly presents her not only the laundry van with Sieglinde's new company logo, but also a truckload full of new kitchen appliances, brought in cheaply from his very special source. When Sieglinde arrives, Christa loses her composure and then, furious, goes to Sieglinde's therapist. Because in this Christa sees the cause of all evil.

Episode 5 - A completely new feeling

Armed with flowers and champagne, master hairdresser Freddy Biber storms into Christa's apartment in broad daylight and asks her to become his wife. The completely astonished Christa is torn between amusement, emotion and a certain perplexity. Freddy finally wants to end the years of hide-and-seek and asks Christa to consider his proposal by the evening. When Christa tells her boyfriend and lodger Max about her marriage plans, he ticks off completely and Christa's employee and friend Gitti also thinks getting married in old age is ridiculous. Even in Sieglinde's new apartment, the upcoming marriage is an issue, because daughter Sieglinde thinks the idea is absurd, finds her mother embarrassed again and reacts with binge eating. Only Michi starts pragmatic with the wedding planner Mr. Blaschka to forge the first plans for the organization of the wedding. For Christa it's all about her feelings for Freddy, but they do a lot of rollercoaster rides.

Episode 6 - Nazdrave, Erich!

Sieglinde has a mental breakdown and lies apathetically in her apartment. Christa and Michi are concerned about possible reasons. Michi suspects that the sensitive Sieglinde cannot cope with the fact that her father Erich has been buried for years somewhere in Bulgaria where no one cares about his grave. At the same time a lively Freddy wants to move in with Christa with his bag and baggage and meets the completely perplexed Max, who is giving a singing lesson on Christa's piano. A heated argument ensues between the two men, because Max, eaten by jealousy, cannot and does not want to accept the master hairdresser Freddy. Back at the laundry, Michi convinced the ladies that Sieglinde would be better off after a visit to Erich Bachmeier's grave in Bulgaria - and thanks to his organization, they could start the next day.

Episode 7 - Ludwig

Christa is beside herself because she has just found out that a coin launderette is to be opened nearby: her ruin! And since Ludwig, Gitti's ex-husband, is behind it, she loudly blames her employees for it. Her partner, the master hairdresser Freddy Biber, came up with the dog. This, however, without Christa having any idea. The incorrigible Max Vonderthann is fascinated by his new singing student Angel - she comes from Trinidad and is a dream of a woman. Christa's daughter Sieglinde tries to get her life under control and struggles with minor panic attacks. She prefers Michi to the laundry, which is not particularly appreciated by his resolute boss. That's why a fight between mother and daughter is inevitable again. But since all domestic problems with regard to the impending danger of economic bankruptcy from the planned coin laundromat are rather unimportant, Christa begins to take action and searches for delicate information in Ludwig's political past.

Episode 8 - Bepperl

The impending danger of the coin laundromat is averted and Christa would like to return to everyday normality when Freddy suddenly turns up in the laundromat, pale and slightly confused, but without a dog. Christa sends him to the apartment, where he promptly disturbs Max, who is in love, during a shepherd's hour with the beautiful Angel. The inconspicuous Gitti also develops a life of its own: She wants to get to know the Bulgarian taxi driver Danilo better and thanks to modern technology she spends a lot of time in front of the computer. Christa doesn't like that any more than the fact that her employee Michi and her daughter Sieglinde are obviously lovers. The mood in the Bachmeier house escalates, because when Christa's question about the whereabouts of their dog, Freddy has to come out with the truth and confess that 50 percent of Bepperl still belongs to his ex-wife Gabi. It comes to a tangible row and Christa disappears into the laundry, where a euphoric Max tries to persuade her to give his beloved Angel a job.

Episode 9 - Rumba

Hustle and bustle in the Bachmeier laundry! Actually, Christa could use the help of Max's friend Angel, but unfortunately this starts her first day at work four hours late. The guilty Max tries to smooth things over and is glad that Christa and Gitti first go out to buy beds. Under Michi's expert guidance, Angel is given a crash course in laundry care and with the enthusiastic support of Max, the lascivious Angel is forced to do real work on the washing machine and hot iron. Max doesn't suspect that this is the beginning of the end. Sieglinde tries to find stability and joie de vivre again by working in a café and she and Michi carefully allow feelings, according to the motto: two steps forward and one step back. In the meantime, Freddy has not been idle either: the trial lesson in the dance school Dancer's Paradise should bring new impetus to his relationship with Christa. But that's when the trouble really starts.

Episode 10 - Bogdana

Freddy wants to dance with his Christa up to the golden dance badge - for him, dancing means the solution to all relationship problems. While he euphorically lugging on his dancing shoes and trumpeting his high spirits in front of Max, Max suffers infinitely from the fact that his dream woman Angel has disgraced him. An indignant Gitti bursts into this mood, blaming Christa for the fact that her Bulgarian Danilo is not coming to Munich after all. And that's not the only bomb that day, because suddenly Bogdana is in the laundry, the woman who destroyed Christa's marriage twenty years earlier. This has consequences for Max, who immediately flares up in love, Freddy as the former hairdresser and also for Christa, who is brutally confronted with her own past that has not yet been dealt with.

Episode 11 - Shako

Christa obviously has problems with Bogdana's presence: Not only because Sieglinde and Max become friends with her, but also the fact that Bogdana has the surname Bachmeier drives her to white heat. In addition, Freddy is suddenly brought home quite battered by a paramedic. When he comes out with the truth about his head injuries, Christa has enough: She makes herself beautiful, goes to the dance school and seeks the adventure with the Grasberger Tschako, whose charm and stylish turn-on fascinate her totally. In the laundry, Sieglinde and Michi begin to enjoy being in love, while the resolute Gschossmann Irmi successfully persuades the indecisive Gitti to follow her heart and visit Danilo in Bulgaria.

Episode 12 - Mambo

Christa accompanies a happy Gitti to the bus to Bulgaria. In the evening, Freddy surprises her with a candlelight dinner and confesses his love for her. Christa is very touched, but only until the next morning. Because then she realizes that despite all of his love affairs, Freddy is still not free from his ex-wife Gabi. On the spur of the moment, she goes to Grasberger Tschako, but the next bad news awaits her in the dance school: The Austrian charmer has run away. Completely stunned, and after a confrontational visit to Sieglinde and Michi in the new café, Christa begins to pause and slowly she begins to realize what is really important. She packs Freddy's things and puts him in the air! Meanwhile, Max and Gschoßmann Irmi spontaneously manage the laundry. And that's where Christa and Max meet in the evening: melancholy, sentimental, emotional.

Episode 13 - Everything is different

Christa has hired Gschossmann Irmi to help Gitti. The air in Michi and Sieglinde's cafe is thick, because Christa has an appearance with them as their parent. Christa is in full swing at the moment and goes to Freddy and wants a three-month break. Freddy reacts very calmly. Suddenly the van is on fire ...

Episode 14 - Adiós, Freddy!

Bruno Weggelein, an employee of the trade supervisory authority, checks the company and determines that the technology is very ailing. Christa also learns that Freddy is in the hospital for attempted murder.

Episode 15 - Wasn't it fun?

Christa Bachmeier is outraged, because without her express consent, Gschoßmann Irmi and the new temporary worker Kostelic Hasi celebrate their debut in the middle of the laundry ... with fish soup from the south of France! The customers like it, and that's why the boss makes a good face to the epicurean game, but then prefers to rush off to go to Freddy Biber's hospital with Sieglinde. Before they both know what happened to the hairdresser, Sieglinde tells her mother that she is pregnant - Christa struggles to keep her composure! At the same time, Max Vonderthann is working euphorically on a vocal comeback in the operetta "The Bird Trader" and can inspire Bogdana to support him. At the thought of becoming a grandma, Christa is completely out of the role and indulges in trivialities in order to have made every conceivable faux pas at the end of the day ...

Episode 16 - Lecko mio!

With the help of Bepperl, Max Voderthann tries to appeal to Christa's morality and receives a bitter rebuff: Christa does not want to take care of her sick ex-partner Freddy or his dog, but rather about her laundry and her own life - and also about the Bruno Weckerlein who obviously caught fire on her. Max stands between the fronts. As a dog sitter, Max involuntarily sees himself between all fronts and can also endure the whims of the wheelchair-driving Freddy Biber. Inspired by Sieglinde's pregnancy, Michi makes a romantic marriage proposal to his loved one, which the complicated Sieglinde does not at all like. Suddenly the Grasberger Tschako is in the café to win Michi back for a special order. And after a candlelight dinner, there is also a piquant and embarrassing surprise for Christa in her laundry ...

Episode 17 - Bunny in Red Wine

Gitti is back from Bulgaria - both Christa and Gschossmann Irmi are torn apart with curiosity, because they want to know everything about Gitti's hasty departure. An angry Max Vonderthann bursts into it, insulting all three women for the ignorance they show towards his current operetta production. Freddy Biber is also emotionally charged because he is about to leave for his spa stay and he celebrates it in the laundromat: In front of Christa, he hands both the Bepperl and his living will to ... the Gschoßmann Irmi. Max rehearses the "bird dealer" in the theater in Haar and there Tschako Grasberger meets Michi, who slides from one extreme to the other with his hormone-charged pregnant Sieglinde. And Christa and Gitti are also crunching a lot - the two are only reconciled when suddenly there is a visitor from Bulgaria in the kitchen ...

Episode 18 - Lots of Love

A little cat war is going on in the laundry, because Gitti is fighting against Gschoßmann Irmi. Before Christa can clarify the situation, Irmi confidently quits her job, which Gitti doesn't like. The big day of the operetta premiere is here in the Theater in Haar and there is activity everywhere. An excited Max Vonderthann spreads unasked optimism in the artist ensemble, and Christa and Gitti appear in the theater foyer far too early. Then it goes in quick succession and everyone is thrown through: Mother Christa and daughter Sieglinde bang each other violently, Michi is given a valuable violin and Grasberger Tschako kisses Bogdana in public. In addition, Freddy Biber and Gschoßmann Irmi and Bepperl surprisingly come to the performance, and suddenly Max has disappeared ... and the evening is far from over!

criticism

“It was only a matter of time before Peter Bradatsch, author of 'FRANZI', Schneeberger tailored his own series. (...) Schneeberger once again proves herself to be a gifted comedian. "

- Julia Juettner : Spiegel Online

“Sometimes it's just a word that a character throws into a conversation. But paired with the right facial expressions, gestures and spat out, whispered or stated emotionless at the right moment, it is exactly what is so difficult to write and play: tragic and funny at the same time. "

- Sandra Zistl : The world

“Who wants to go back to the eighties? With 'Im Schleudergang', Bayerischer Rundfunk broadcasts a series for lovers of flat clichés and exaggerated figures. "

“The humor in this series is not loud and rumbling, but appears authentic. (...) 'In the spin cycle' is a piece of television entertainment as it can best be. "

- Uwe Ziegler : Donaukurier

“The rose-tinted glasses that television editors usually like to impose on their authors have not been put on. And that's how stories came about that seem to be drawn from real life. Very realistic and yet great entertainment. "

- Senta Krasser : Stuttgarter Zeitung

Awards

Gisela Schneeberger was awarded the German Actor Award on February 10, 2014 at the Berlinale as the best actress in a comedic role ("Im Schleudergang", "Add A Friend", "Einevery hot number").

On May 23, 2014, Gisela Schneeberger received the Blue Panther for her role as Christa Bachmeier in Im Schleudergang at the Bavarian TV Prize 2014 as best actress in the "Series" category. The jury's reasoning was as follows:

“The 'Schleudergang', a mix of original Bavarian, comical and bizarre Schwabing stories, lives mainly from Gisela Schneeberger, who once again shows off her incredible skills. Schneeberger lives all of her roles in an inimitable manner: she can satire 'almost like in real life', she can 'windshield wipers', she fiddles with the Monaco Franze, and she is the boss, mother, lover and friend in the Schwabing laundromat! Schneeberger plays the Schwabing entrepreneur with wit, temperament, attractiveness and resoluteness, ironic and satirizing herself at the same time. Whether the permanently unsuccessful disputes with her unhappy daughter, the haggling with the ingratiating house friend, the tough love life with her provincial lover and her 'bossy' demeanor in the laundry: Schneeberger is always and somehow lovable. She is in top form when she gets an invitation to visit the Pope and hopes to join the crowd. Schneeberger, who casually and casually brings this highlight in the stairwell closer to each of her loved ones, shows once again that she has mastered great acting. "
